Nanaimo bars are insanely Canadian but they don't really travel well, and they're my favourite dessert. Also, only found (and done well) in Eastern Canada. The donair. So. Good. Spiced meat formed into a log, shaved, and put into a pita with raw onions and tomato with donair sauce. Which is an evaporated milk (which sounds weird) sauce.
@GlamourKillsTian9 жыл бұрын

Nanaimo Bars. Maple Syrup candies (like the small maple leaf ones that are basically hard maple syrup). And you should have told him about the snow syrup where you pour the boiling syrup onto snow and eats it with a Popsicle stick. All dressed chips, and of course, ketchup chips.

I don't know if anyone is interested but butter tarts are most likely a variation of the old scottish dessert ecclefechan tarts. The pioneers would have had difficulty accessing or storing the other ingredients used in the filling and the butter tart with no extra dried fruit or nuts or more scantly used raisins or walnuts were used instead. I would love to find out about other recipes like this that evolved to find a distinct separation from the original due to circumastances and geography if anyone knows of more similar please comment and tell me. I hope everyone is having a nice day! :)

I can honestly say as a Canadian that I detest our maple deserts, they're ungodly sweet. I also detest ketchup chips but Hawkins Cheezies make up for it. I could eat two whole bags in one sitting they're so good. Those weren't even good butter tarts hahah. You have to try homemade butter tarts they're to die for. Nanaimo Bars are easier to make I think and also delicious.
