Description of video & Ingredients:
In this video Barry has been sent a load of treats from New Zealand to try - including a chocolate fish, whittakers peanut slab & hokey pokey, L & P drink and choco-ade. It's fair to say that Barry had a fair bit of sugar intake during this video and was pretty hyper throughout - these treats were pretty darn amazing but Barry went for a pretty big run afterwards though!!

Fun little fact on Chocoade. They were originally from the 80's and went away last last year there was this major petition and eventually came back. Just to put this into perspective, it got onto all news channels when they put them back on the shelves.

And guys who are getting annoyed over him saying that we say fush and chups; he's meaning that that's what it sounds like we're saying because of our accent lmao, which if you put yourself in a Brit's shoes; it probably would sound like we're saying fush and chups

I think the Australian and New Zealand accents are almost like certain Canadian and U.S. accents. Can't blame people for thinking a Canadian is from the US, really, with such similar accent! Silly people would get offended at such a thing. At 3:03 it's kind of funny how you said "chunky" when there's a chocolate bar in the U.S. called "Chunky" and I had it last when I was a kid (in the 1980s). It's a big 'chunk' piece of chocolate with peanuts and raisins in it. I always liked the taste. The raisins gave it extra sweet character too. :)
@courtneylewis2415
@courtneylewis2415 9 жыл бұрын
+Steve C Haha pretty true about the accent thing. I'm a Kiwi and we just have a healthy rivalry with our sister country so 75% of the offense is sarcastic. Even though we think Aussie's sound ridiculous and totally different, most reasonable people can appreciate the mistakes others may make. Though as a general rule, Aussie's sound closer to Americans, a bit more nasal and a sharper emphasis on e's and i's and us Kiwi's are a bit closer to Brit's (comparative to Aussie's I mean) and we're slurred and mumbly :P

the hula thing is called a haka and i took that personally because the hula is Hawaiian dance and the haka is used to intimidate people because it is a war dance done by the Maori people before we where colonized by Britain. a tiki tour is like a detour but new zealandified ( i just made that word up). done insult our native language. ye new zealanders like to go fishing it is like the favorite pass time here. and there are more kinds of wittikers slab than just two there is like 50 different types we also have more than one kind of cookie time cookie. once more k bars/toffee sticks come in more than lime orange and raspberry flavor there are like 20 kinds of them and we also melt them together so we have these yummy flavor combos. l&p is really special to new zealanders and the p stands for paeroa witch is a city in new zealand look at pics of the city (PS it has a giant l&p bottle by the border) and that is a really tiny bottle that he got here in new zeaand you can get 3 liters of it in bottles. and yes alot of our place names are from the maroi language. normally they are about a quarter of the size of the one he has and come in bags with about 40-50 per bag. and chocade has just recently been brought back like in 2014 but it was originally released in 1970 and was taken off the manufacturing lines of griffins till now you can also get lots of different ones like Dubble choc and berry. so there is the dicrition of every thinf in the vid for anyone who is not a new zealander. :)

The haka is a type of ancient Māori war dance traditionally used on the battlefield, as well as when groups came together in peace. It is a fierce display of a tribe's pride, strength and unity and is commonly used before our rugby/rugby league teams take on other countries. There are different types of Hakas and they can also be used in special ceremonies such as weddings, graduations, birthdays etc

With K bars you're supposed to leave them in the wrapper and unravel it slowly as you eat it. Every year at the chocolate festival in Dunedin in the south island they roll thousands of jaffas down Baldwin Street, the steepest street in the world. With Pineapple lumps you can either have them a room temp and they're chewy or, even better, you keep them in the fridge or freezer and then when you first eat it, its crunchy then goes chewy!

To people saying "OMG New Zealand people sound so mean..." ummm do you expect us to welcome you with open arms when you just disrespected the Maori culture by offensively blabbering out words and saying "yea that's the Haka" NO! Do onto others what you want them to do onto you.. The Haka has meaning and culture in it... if you don't know anything about it... don't jokingly attempt it! Some may think it's just for fun but don't expect all New Zealanders to be like "Oh what a funny guy hahahaha" no some people take offence to mockery... even if it's un-intentional.. which in this case seemed hella intentional..

Do your homework mate your opening facts are mostly wrong. Australians say 'fush and chips' not kiwis. Hula skirts are not NZ. Its 'Haka' not Hacka. (thats the first 23 seconds). The 'Kia Ora' drink was produced in Australia and to my knowledge never sold in NZ. Stubbies were worn in the 70s and were nothing like a thong. Stubbies are the male equivalent to Daisy Dukes.

Savahna Watson over the top? so he failed to do the haka..we all know NZ is the only nation that can do it ..he can't do it..plus he supports rugby, has a rugby shirt on for the occasion it being our national sport, not only that he mentions a legendary player..and is eating some of our sweets and doing it the kiwi way, microwave and everything..I personally like him and he's funny lol..as for the haka, I give him props for trying but I hope he never attempts it again lol, or at least learn it properly, because it is something that we kiwi's take reallllllly seriously.
