As an Ecuadorian, I'm happy to know you love our chocolate! And you haven't tried others as Tango, Manicero and Pacari. This last one is organic chocolate which last year (2014) won 14 awards in the International Chocolate Awards held in the UK. This was the third time this brand receives international recognition. So far, Pacari has received 79 awards since 2012. Visit their website and you will see the extense variety of chocolates they have! Proudly Ecuadorian chocolate!

Toffee in the US is hard and crunchy, as you know from tasting that SKOR bar. Taffy is soft.
@MsCptMal10 жыл бұрын
You were cracking me up in this video. I'm not sure what's up with people flinging penguins in the sea but I appreciate that it's a tradition that both Ecuadorians and Americans share. Also, I'm slightly confused now about what other countries call toffee and taffy. In America toffee is a coffee/caramel candy that is either a hard candy or extremely tough and chewy/sticky while taffy is usually a soft and gooey candy that comes in a million flavors. Taffy makers actually 'pull' and 'stretch' the candy. It is pretty neat to watch.

:-)
@b264308 жыл бұрын
We Americans don't call taffy and toffee the same thing because they aren't. Taffy is a chewy stretchy often but not always fruity candy. Toffee is like what is in a skor or Heath bar it's hard n buttery delicious.

lol Taffy and toffee (for the most part) are two completely different confections. Taffy is soft and chewy and is made by boiling sugar until it gets thick and then it gets pulled on a "taffy puller" until it forms a glossy, smooth appearance , toffee is hard caramalized sugar either in a block, sheet or crumbs, kinda like peanut brittle without the peanuts.
@ghidorahs1fan2096 жыл бұрын
Toffee in many countries is different to American toffee. Like in Australia have soft and hard toffees they are the same ingredients but are cooked to different heats to get the different textures and they can be any flavors. American candy apples are called toffee apples in many countries including Australia and they are covered in the hard toffee. Then Taffy is different again but I don't know much about that as its pretty rare were I live and I have never tried to make it myself.

Very late to the party, but I really do appreciate this. Though I live in the States, I’m Ecuadorian, no surprise there. Most of these Treats make up a good portion of my pantry. Guayaquil is where I usually go to visit family and there’s a local mall with a supermarket. It’s a paradise. Some things you can get in the US, but there are other things that can only be found in Ecuadorian markets. Btw, I’ve seen all of Barshens and Ashens, so I’m a big fan and have now started watching your content. It’s very different from Barshens but in a good way. I like the family friendly vibe here. Don’t tell Stuart, you’ll always be my favorite, Barry.

Hi Barry, Greetings from Ecuador... your video was funny as always... and no, Bambolina is not a expression we use for excitement hahaha... I think it's just the name of it... Manichos and so many products you tested are from a local company which name was so funny to hear from you "LA Universal"... it's most like "The Universal" but nothing related with Hollywood... anyway, it was so hilarious...
