Tasting the first Abiu from our tree!

This is the first fruit from our Abiu (Pouteria Caimito) tree! We put this tree in the ground a little over 3 years ago and a few days ago we noticed that we had a fruit ready to eat. Well, we decided the only thing better than eating a home grown abiu was eating a home grown abiu with an audience!

@@aurelioperez1363 Annona fruits are the best! I love Cheramoya! We are growing both Rollinia and Soursop, but I hear Cheramoya don't do so well here.

They are super good if you ever find one. Miami fruit growers may ship some to you when they are in season. They sell many tropical fruits.

It's great that you're growing a pair, I understand it's best to have cross pollination for a larger harvest. I have a total of three trees but this is the only mature one so far. @@jeanetteoliveira9501 Those are great ideas and rollinia is one of my absolute *Favorite* fruits ever! (I'm a big fan of all the annona fruits really) I can't wait for our Rollinia trees to start producing! Sadly, I only have one in the ground so far and it's not rebounded from the planting yet. But fingers crossed, I'll have a rollinia on camera soon! (or soursop, as that tree seems to be doing a bit better)

For the Abiu? No, but I can certainly suggest a place to get them from if you are having trouble finding them. Let me know and I'll track some down for you. What zone are you in?
