a TAS of this game really amplifies just how well the game was made for its time: levels don't include useless space, puzzles have to be solved in the intended way, Visual and sound design reinforce each other and give the game that unsettling, but not threatening, feeling.
@SeppelSquirrel2 жыл бұрын
I was really impressed by it, too! At first I was confused as to why so many moves were required to make each position work, and it turns out it's because there are 27 different "orientations" of the block. Because movement back to the origin point in a single direction is 3 tiles, we have to account for all 3 orientations (standing, vertical, horizontal) per tile in a 3x3 space. This is also why a 3x3 space isn't enough to attain each orientation. You need at least 2 tiles' growth beyond a 3x3 space to achieve additional orientations.
@PaulFisher2 жыл бұрын
as I was watching this, I was struck by just how good the animations and sound effects are. even though the swirling effect as the tiles exit the playfield is a bit dated, it’s well-executed, and the “sliding into the hole” sound (not to mention the motion) is perfect.
