The train horn going to the music, even changing when monsters appeared, made me break into a big-ol' goofy grin. And the rapid track changing at 48:27? Hilarious. I love it when even the people behind the TAS are having fun with it. I kinda wish there was (English) commentary to point out all the fun they had that I didn't notice, since I'm not too familiar with the game and may not have known which things were optional that they just did for fun.

Fun Fact: That script was basically completed in 3 days since the TAS was submitted in the worst possible month, December. We tend try and get all publications out before the new year (the ones that got accepted) and I made that script in that small amount of time with a handful of errors. Now... if only we knew that it wasn't going to be accepted before the year end. And yes, DS is one of the systems that gets some QC before a final encode... especially the insane ones.

I have one question. Why bother drawing train routes? Wouldn't it be faster to skip it and just switch tracks manually the whole way?
@toripoppo_tas Жыл бұрын
Basically, the game always forces player to draw the path. The TAS draws the paths in 2 frames -- the shortest time.
@thatguyoverthere1887 Жыл бұрын
@@toripoppo_tas well i could be shortened to just one frame, so the one frame required to take off can be used for routing and then the rest of the route can be done manually, making the run ever so slightly faster, by just one frame each time the train is required.
@toripoppo_tas Жыл бұрын

@marcosperezomg2 жыл бұрын
I feel like a solid 75% of it would just be transporting resources and people for sidequests which would be boring to watch. There is way too much train travel in a 100% playthrough and you can only watch so much train horn music sync, cinematic camera pans, or perfect cannon shots before it starts to get boring. Would definitely be interesting to watch a segmented TAS on all the optional minigames though.
