I have one question. If a company wanted to, couldn't they just produce an initial batch with higher quality materials at a loss and quietly reduce the structural integrity down the line? This would ensure low costs and good perception simultaneously.

Not much point because the meterial itself doesn't really cost that much 😂😂 maybe a few thousands at Max the real cost is RND and how can the car be strong and still good at all the other stuf now days even being too strong is a problem because pedistrian safety 😂 so ya that's where they spend millions and after spending why the f will they create a new design and more RND just to save a few thousands and worse branding in the long run . If we come to think about it, it's actually possible in India. Not in other countries cause there, they have timely inspections of products under the Consumer Rights and Product Management. Percentage wise, a few thousand rupee increase can have a substantial impact on margins. RND is expensive, but I'd suppose if they were less worried about costs for just the initial batch it would be pretty cheap. Pedestrian safety doesn't matter in Bharat NCAP. (We all know pedestrians are poor people who don't deserve any respect in India /s)

Acc to gncap /bncap written norms car should be base model... but harrier safari nexon tested in gncap was top model.....even verna virtus slavia also tested with top models.....where maruti cars was tested base model including vitara brezza..(although doesnt affect rating)......if they selects why they select top models ....even after they wrote it in their norms....gagan choudhary was right about gncap....definitely those cars doesnt selected by ncap themselves...
