Before Fronx, the Boosterjet turbo was also given in the Baleno RS but unfortunately that was not sold too much. But that boosterjet was not exactly same what is offered in Fronx. I missed mentioning this in the video. Also, A small correction: at 5:32, Intake stroke, when piston goes downwards, cylinder will suck the air from intake manifold through opened intake valve, and this is the reason sometime it is called Suction Stroke. I recently purchased the I20 Nline which has Hyundai’s 1 litre TGDI engine and as per my scarce knowledge, I think this engine best fits this car only and it is an absolute hoot to drive.

Very fine work sir.Naturally aspirated engine has long life but turbo engine has booster which is boon to give best outcome .now it is better to install turbo engine to use its energy at best .old designed NA engine may be gold foe long run but new turbo system should also be used to make it robust.

Many thanks to singh sahab 😊🙏 I agree however here we have little problem, earlier we had many choices between these two with more NA, the issue is more and more people have to acquire or buy TC engines (most 3 cylinder petrol) which are worst for city drive, very short trips, longevity of engine and not at all VFM if one has to drive it mostly within crowded city. For highways, these are good but up to some specific RPMs after that typical 3 cylinder engine problem is more visible. I will make a video on 3 vs 4 cylinder engines so more people will be aware before they really buy it for their use cases. Thanks again for your comments and contribution 😊🙏

but Honda gives u best of both Worlds.. NA mein VTEC... behaves exactly like turbo but also very very reliable... a smart buyer will always go for that

Try driving a 1.5 turbo. You will the difference in fully loaded condition, just for eg: 1.5 TGDI engine of creta give 256Nm torque from 1750-5500 RPM, Whereas elevate give 135NM @4300 RPM.

Dear Mr Krishna, many thanks. Auto Start Stop is a good feature if you are not in a very tight traffic where after every few seconds you have to scroll your car in traffic. This situation is very annoying and it is problematic for alternator in the longer term. A very frequent start stop in a longer term may also not be good for the engine as well as the exhaust where half burn fuel accumulation may occur. In a normal use with a standard traffic light stoppage in smooth traffic it definitely saves fuel. This is a debate between the utility of feature vs longevity of the vehicle based on usage. Hope, you understand. With due respect from Himachal Pradesh!

That's really difficult to decide but it depends what drives you. XL6 is entirely a different style car which is a MUV category and other two are sedan. XL6 and Honda City both run with NA engines for life longevity perspective and easy to maintain category. Virtus has 1.0 3cyl TSI engine which is one of the best among most of 3cyl TC engine in market. For life longevity perspective e.g. 15 years or so virtual will have comparitively higher maintenance than honda city. If you are more aligned to NA engine then go for Honda City and if have bigger family some time more occupent then XL6. Good thing about Virtus is its punchy nature but in most of city drive situations you don't need that and will have some turbo panalties going forward. However, on highways, it is little better to drive. So Honda city looks better option in case a small family and for bigger family XL6 but city meneuvering will be little difficult with XL6. Again, there is no thumb rule for choice and requirements. Based on your needs you decide which one is more suitable and have a better usecase. Feel free to ask more. Hope, this helps.

Many thanks to you Sinha sahab 😊🙏🎉 Turbo are also good but I prefer minimum 4 cylinders and Turbo needs some best practices to follow. One of the most refined petrol 3 cyl turbo is TSI commonly available in India is from Skoda and VW just in case you will consider 3 cyl. Thanks.

Excellent explanation.. Technically speaking a Turbocharged Diesel engine is the sweet spot.. I have a diesel altroz which has turbo as standard. It helps reduce emissions and the mileage is fantastic with power if you want to be a little excitement. On any average day the diesel engine idles at 900 RPM.. metal fatigue is well addressed as Diesel engines give big torque at lower RPM. This is why Diesel engines actually last longer. One advice I will give is first Engine Oil change should be done ~8000 kms. Next most important thing is change the oil and oil filter every 8-10k .. ensure your intake manifold is always clear, air filters should be replaced by the weather you are in. Most important thing is always get your tyre pressure right. Do it each ride if you're serious. Lastly, don't rev high until you break the engine in through the first 5000 kms.. if you do your engine will develop issues earlier than normal. And 3 cylinder petrol engines are a damn scam, you'll kill your clutch and your transmission fast if you use it in any region where you have hills or climb etc.. Golden rule: never drink and drive.. you'll end up hurting yourself and others. I have had an i10, Innova and a damn travera hit me on signals and turns.. bumper got scratches but then the others were Not a TATA so they had a good set of things broken.

It will be fine but the new dzire is with a z series 3 cyl engine in case you are fine with that.

Thank you for making such complicated topic simple. Please also make a video on throttle controller functioning. Also TC engines are sensitive to throttle input, so at the end they are less fuel efficient

Many thanks Nilesh Sahab 😊🙏 By keeping in mind that all turbocharger vehicles have some penalties, TSI is way refined technology when it comes to 3 cyl petrol engines which have good low end torque in most cases and least turbo lag. I am not saying it is linear in all bands of rpms but a good one. To repeat, don't forget penalties which I will cover in a separate video. But turbo only if you have use case. Excellent information very well explained for common public. One question sir. I have Ertiga NA 1.5 petrol which I feel a little underpowered. Is there any way to generate a bit more power through same NA engine? Is it possible to increase air intake or externally fitting a turbo?

Rahul Sahab than you very much ✨️ 🙏 Honestly, butting a TC on NA engine is not a good idea and an expensive affair as well. There is not much one can do in this case because of petrol engine. BTW, how old is hour car, which model exactly and how long you want to keep it?

Aha... It's fairly new. Do not experiment much. A couple of things you can try, a high performance air filter and iridium spark plug. It will not increase the power but it will refine the ignition for sure and you will feel the smoother drive. If there will be anything else I will let you know. Thanks for an explicit detailing Sir... Can you advise on the efficiency of iMT over MT... and with iMT would there be a huge compromise on mileage and additional Maintainence cost to bear.... I live in Bangalore aged 55, want to change my alto 800, and am interested to take automatic transmission where iMT is offered only by KIA and Venue only... Also Pl comment on iMT or AMT which is better between these two.. DCT I am not considering... Your expert advise and response is much awaited SIRJI. Pl help

Hopefully, this is not late. This is actually a good question. Let me start from here. Whether it is iMT (Hyundai, Kia) or AMT both are actually manual transmission at the core, however those manua transmissions are made automated but differently in the both the cases. Your first question: "Efficiency of iMT over AT" - It is very subjective. Well, in terms of fuel efficiency, you can draw little better in AMT because you have control over clutch but iMT you do not have any control over clutch. There is no clutch pedal in iMT however the gear shift is still like manual, in simple and plain words, iMT cars offload using clutch pedal and they automated it using electronic actuators. With my experience and real time events, iMT is not friendly in hills and slopes which is one downside but this is not an issue with MT. The upfront cost and any possible maintenance will be costlier in case of iMT. "iMT vs AMT question" - AMT or AGS, give you a complete feel of Automatic but they are slugish and good thing is upfront cost or maintenance not that high. In AMT, your gearshif is like any other typical automatic car but it is not automatic from inside because having manual transmission with some actuators to make us feel like automatic. These are also be used in manual mode. When I say slugish that means, it is not for enthusiasts but not bad for city drives or a highway drive if you don't believe in much overtakes because there is some delay in gear shift and pick up responses. The true automatics are TC, DCT, CVT, DSG etc which are commonly called as AT (not AMT). I tried explaining it, hopefully you find this useful. See me around if you need more help Sir! 😊👍
