I have this cap as well and I started without a plastic cap on my head. Be careful because it caused a little heat damage afterwards. I think the plastic cap is essential and proper heat setting is important.

The detachable and washable cap she removed is enough protection for your hair. Using a shower cap under the steaming cap will defeat the purpose of steaming which is to hydrate.

Thanks for video but what I discovered when I used mine after some days I discovered my hedges around my head front and back was peel though there was no sore in it, I guess I over stayed long when using the cap and gave me some patches
