Thanks for your informative video. This remind me a cummin engine v-555 engine oil and coolant dillusion. I stripped the engine and find out the source of coolant leaks comes from the air compressor.

Finally got my account with Cummins, ready to finally get on their web based training. Of course they wont have all their motor issues outlined in their training so times like these it's great to have channels like this to reference the common issues and symptoms of big rig motors. Thanks for the informational video and keep up the great work over there at TAT Express! Many thanks from Upstate NY.

1 thing to note with the x15 platform. Oil burn off using 10w30. It burns that 10w30 like it's nothing. Use 15w40 and change oil before 20k miles

@@TATEXPRESSINC Mr.Adam, I have a question have you encountered a tractor that’s has gone through 5 EGR coolers within a year ? I work in a fleet so a yard mule that is equipped with Cummins ISB that constantly breaks down for coolant loss it always turn out to be the egr cooler, and I know that they place OEM egr cooler, I just find it weird.

Giovannie V, is the engine consuming oil? Check the exhaust ports upstream for signs of oil, fuel, or coolant.

HELP!! My dad bought a KW t660 Cummins ISX and has been to most every shop in East Texas and no luck... Truck can idle for hours with no issue, but 45 minutes after hitting the road it will just die, after a few minutes it turns back on fine and runs again for another 30-45 minutes before dying again.. Thanks!

My ISX is getting coolant in the fuel, but no coolant in the oil samples. At a shop now waiting for diagnosis. 🤦♂️

Great video Adam but I have a question in your professional opinion as a shop owner do you feel Cummins is a superior product to Detroit?
@TATEXPRESSINC3 жыл бұрын
Both platforms struggled to produce a quality engine while meeting EPA standards. Later models are usually the best to go with. Detroit is a bit less expensive to maintain. Currently both models are seeing parts shortages.
@TATEXPRESSINC3 жыл бұрын
With the parts and new truck shortage, it is essential to keep up with maintenance and conduct inspections. Schedule your appointment if you're in Dallas Tx. 972-225-3017 🧐💪🏼🔧

Don’t know why they went with a single oring design. In my opinion 3 orings is superior like most of the other semi truck engine manufacturers use

I've been told its impossible to get coolant in the oil from the egr cooler
@taselescanlan27952 жыл бұрын
Coolant leaks into the air side of the cooler, drips down into the exhaust, goes inside exhaust ports 3-6 and can find its way onto the piston for hydrolock. It’s can also seep past the rings and straight down into the oil sump. Currently doing on now.
