Trevor Kenzie the work that comes out of the shop is what matters..... think of how many of the screw ups that Tatro has to fix, most probably come from guys who spend more time worrying about a clean shop instead of learning to run their machines properly

No, leaving it dirty makes me think you don't know how to use it! The way wipers on the saddle and crossfeed are probably loaded with grit by now and acting like lapping compound every time you turn a handle. I don't complain about the mill because it has way covers, but you should clean it once in a while as well!
