I was in Heaven when I realized your video WAS 40 minutes long. Lol I enjoy spending all that time with you and don’t have to rewatch parts of the video over and over to “get” a technique. I am trying to wrap my head around when you are tatting a wrong side with reverse stitches when it looks like the RS to me. I love learning new ways to make tatting easier with less cutting and joining. I found some dark green to make me a couple, or 3, tree ornaments. Thank you so much for this series. Time to watch the first one, again, so I can get started. ☺💕

Hello, so glad you enjoyed the longer video! If the fs/bs technique is too confusing for you, the tree will look just great if you use conventional tatting too! It's not that easy to spot what side of tatting you are looking at, especially on a video I would think. It's mostly visible at the picots. Perhaps it's an idea for another video?

Please keep the videos as complete as this one. I find seeing how you hold and manipulate the tatting really useful, especially as a beginner. Thank you.

This is your channel and your content…and as much as I love to spend all that time with you, I would want you to make the video the way you want. I so appreciate your time and talent. ☺

Thank you so much for these videos. I really like hearing how/why you made the modifications you did, and how to add in split rings!

I love tatting however I haven’t been able to find an instructor near me. I’ve tried to teach myself however I just can’t get the hang of shuttle tatting. Needle tatting is easier for me, but I’m in awe of your work! If only I could find a teacher of your expertise. 😊

Thank you for patiently showing how to tat this lovely tree. I think if it is easier for you to show the critical areas, that would be fine instead of your having to tat the whole round on video.❤❤

Hi Sandy, sorry you're not able to find a teacher, I know it can be difficult. I have beginner videos that might help you get started with a shuttle? Yes, I think needle tatting is easier initially but once you get "transferring the knot" with a shuttle, you'll be away! And then you don't need to work with all those pesky long lengths of thread as you do with a needle. Of course just my opinion, I know many people prefer working with a needle. :-)

Thank you for your comment Debra. It's good to know viewers' opinions. :-)

It makes a lot of sense to make the tree all in one pass. I've had bad experience with split chains before, I was making them too floppy. But it's worth practising. :)
@11FrivoleАй бұрын
Oh yes, for me, if I can make anything in one pass, it's always my first choice! And yes, I think it's easy to make split chains too floppy as you say. I think you have to aim for a bit of bare thread that seems nearly just a bit too short in a way and it will be tight to make the stitches fit but that way the second half of the split chain will be nice and firm like the first half.

@@11Frivole Thanks! I will definitely have to try it like that next time.

Hi Paula, I'm sorry but I'm no tatting needle expert and wouldn't be able to demonstrate with a needle. Shuttle is my thing! :-)
