My recommendation for getting a tattoo: No names unless the person is dead or your child Pay twice as much as you want. Three times for cover ups Make sure the artist does the style you want Hang the art on your bathroom mirror for at least a month before getting it to make sure you like looking at it every day

Tiny Valkyrie don't put your child's name on your skin either. They may change it - and if they change it because they're trans, it's going to make them extremely uncomfortable if you still have their dead name on your skin. Date of birth of each child is pretty safe.

Teal Rose that is an excellent point. I do think there could be tasteful ways to change a name tattoo of a trans child. Depending on the relationship, the parent could involve their kid in changing or covering up the dead name as a demonstration of acceptance, but not every parent/child relationship would allow that and during the difficult transition it could be very painful for both involved.

I think I finally get the hummingbird. I think the artist was trying to use the points of the star to affect like blur-lines, from the wings moving up and down so fast, and that's why those other smudge lines are there and the extra wing-looking thing. Ok so (personally) I actually think the tat @ 5:31 isn’t great but it’s SO MUCH BETTER than the cover up PLUS if you stop looking @ it like a tribal tat & start looking @ it like a abstract-ish drunken owl ghost 🤣 that is much better & funnier then the cover up!!! ALSO the tat @ 3:47 (about the cover up only) looks like either a smudgy butterfly with giant balls or a smudgey hummingbird with giant balls lol 😂😱🤣 one more thing...... Think long & hard ppl before getting a tattoo, NEVER get one on a whim EVER!!! Be safe & smart everyone!!!
