Late to the comment section, but I just picked this deck up and I’m loving it. Zuran Orb is a piece to consider using if your mega is RoL-heavy, as it allows you to drop your Sanctuary to Grave and replay it with something like Crucible/Ramunap to get back your extra turn spell without needing to cast anything else that turn. Also, obviously, slot in Boseiju, Who Endures. It’s the best answer to Rule and Deafening I can think of, seconded by maybe Krosan Grip if your deck can support the mana cost.

Looking over Cinestra's list, I would actually prefer to run more board removal. To my knowledge, Oko and Pongify are the sole ways of interacting with the board. I realize that with all the layered combos and stack interaction, the available slots are tight, so I understand the builder's choices.
@Kazz11873 жыл бұрын
Like what for board removal? Is oversimplify cedh viable or do you mean more single target removal
@tqbrowne3 жыл бұрын
@@Kazz1187 More single target removal may be needed as I see this deck wanting to play a controlling role as it begins to pick up steam with its midgame plan. A few examples of decks that I would fear developing their midgame plan while you are still assembling yours are Winota, Kinnan, Edric, Pako//Haldan, and Jeska//Ishai. Being able to contribute to keeping the board clear is essential because these decks find inevitability swiftly if left unanswered.
@Kazz11873 жыл бұрын
For a better understanding of “adaptive deck,” should I be trying to run more removal as opposed to more counter spells in a more control-shell?
@tqbrowne3 жыл бұрын
@@Kazz1187 The best answer to your question involves reflecting on your meta. If your meta is faster, such as many Grixis and Grixis-focused strategies, keep the control and add stax pieces, such as artifact hate for Dockside. If your meta has a prevalence of midrange strategies, pack in more removal to disrupt their value-generation.

Isn't there a precon commander in zen rising that can sub as Tatyova so you can have both cards as commander and lieutenant for redundancy?
@mcNopeFace3 жыл бұрын
is gemstone cavern even that good or noticeable (consistency)? i think i'd prefer blast zone against hate-pieces. is the snow non-snow basics split correct ? field of the dead wants the rare (singleton) basic, and mouth of ronom wants the snow land. which one do you fetch if neither is in your hand (yet) ?
@Kazz11873 жыл бұрын
That’s a good point. I think more snow is better, but given all the utility lands available, activating FotD shouldn’t be too much of an issue
@andreww4793 жыл бұрын
The high density of fetches (8) and being able to reuse the fetches through Crucible effects means you should be able to get the 1 of basics easily enough and you only have 3 non basic lands you can fetch for and Vista only grabs basics.

4:32 Seems to me like the ghostly flicker line does not produce infinite mana and does not even continue if Tatyova is not out? You need atleast a lotus cobra or something for the infinite mana and a draw trigger from somewhere to get the flicker back?
@13tubamaster3 жыл бұрын
I know it loses a lot of draw power, but can slogurk the over slime be seen as an alternate commander? Built in life from the loam as well as getting bigger on fetches means that the overslime has more of an interactive field presence while also intimidating ad naus players. It feels like there could be a niche in this type of deck that slogurk could fill. Also the ability to dodge targeted removal while also getting a life from the loam has to account for something right?

how does tatyova, exploration, crucible of worlds, strip mine, mystic sactuary, and time warp get you infinite turns? wouldn’t that only net you turns as longs as you can draw? cause tatyova triggers twice not once in that turn i feel like i’m missing something here. I may be dumb for asking this, but how does Mystic Santuary, Ghostly Flicker, and an artifact that makes 2 mana infinite mana? Edit: If you had a Mana Vault then it is infinite mana. But I'm not seeing how making 3 mana (Mana Crypt and Sanctuary) to cast a 3 mana spell over and over is netting you mana.
