Oh man I remember when I first saw these clips at about a decade ago, I didn't understand anything. Now that I play badminton I highly appreciate how quick Taufik switches to a backhand grip and the intention to follow through with a backhand smash. I switch to a backhand grip thinking if I should play a smash, a clear, or a drop which makes me late to do any of them. This guy just reflexively backhand smashes just as how you would reflexively defend a very fast forehand smash.

Setelah melihat beberapa series dan thomas kemarin. Ternyata kebanyakan pemain sekarang hanya backhand clear dan drop. Sangat jarang sekali backhand smash para pemain tunggal sekarang. Ternyata permainan Taufik luar biasa

he went and prepare for the backhand even before opponent hit back the shuttle that why he can be so comfortable hitting those backhand smashes also his wrist bend very naturaly make the backhand hit like his forehand

Kalo pernah main badminton langsung pasti tau betapa susahnya melakukan backhand smash itu. Butuh power pergelangan tangan yang kuat. Jangankan backhand smash, melakukan backhand clear dengan mendorong cock lebih ke belakang aja susah apalagi backhand smash. Dan Taufik melakukannya seperti dengan effortless.

Thanks for the compilation video. It just remind me how good Taufik Hidayat was. His backhand smash was something beautiful to see. Only he can pull off that powerful backhand. He is a unique player. That backhand smash is very unpredictable. That makes TH one of the greatest badminton player. Nobody can do backhand smash better than Taufik Hidayat himself. Even im still learning how to do that backhand smash like he did.
