I need to decide if i will put my mother into a nursing home ..Its killing me , not sure which way to go . I just know after 9 years of looking after her , i cant give her 24 hr care . Dad wants her home ..I need to do whats best for her

I too was living with my Mother. And doing an assisted living type situation. Finally she needed to much care for me give her and still hold down a full time job. She had to go to the hospital for a UTI and the social worker talked to her and she agreed to go in a nursing home. I was so relieved! I loved my Mother, but I was starting to resent giving up my life to take care of her. We feel like we owe our parents a lot, but they shouldn't expect us to give up our whole life for them. She also needs to be in a safe environment. Good luck!
