I've had one for a couple years now....I absolutely love mine. I love going to the range with it. I usually let the range master know I'm about to shoot the 454 rounds out of courtesy. (indoor range) I can get everyone to do a WTF was that and step back from their stalls after the first round. :) .45lc rounds do get a bit dirty and the variety of .410 shells is fun to try out. I haven't tried the dragon breath round yet, have to look into that one. :) Nice review!

A very easy gun to shoot accurately, even with the Casull rounds. 45LC in this gun is like a .22. Way more controllable than my .50AE.

I am impressed with the Raging Judge and this great review. I have the Tarus full metal frame and have carried it for several years when running trotlines on the Trinity River. I normally use #4’s for close quarter in log jams. I think I would like the Raging Judge better as the 6” barrel is holding the pattern much better at longer range. I use the .410 Defender round for home defense. It is a 3” shell with 3 copper plates and 4 BBs between each plate for a total of 15 projectiles per round. I sleep with it in my lap... First out of the barrell is the 3 Defender rounds followed by 2 .45 LC Hornady ballistic tipps. I would also LOVE to see a review of the Raging Judge Lite. Can get in the same barrel length, lighter material and it holds 7 rounds instead of 5. It does not shoot the .454 Casul round.

VERY first pistol I bought... my friend said "I didn't say buy the most powerful handgun on the planet ..."at 40 yards, makes watermelons go boom.indoor range that is full on (full range, other people going: " bang bang bang bang bang " ( I go ) BOOM! () "what the HELL was THAT??!?"it gets a LOT of attention when you are at the range, people love to see it shot, too scared to do it.it has a massive shockwave, if you are a spectator, you WILL feel the shockwave jolt your glasses.If you are in front of it, it might even knock them off.double and triple ot buckshot is the way to go for 410 shells.large balls, little movement.it is effectively a 9" barreled shotgun.don't mind that cylinder, it hits the rifled barrel snuggly and flies true.the cylinder gap will cost you 10% velocity..if you use a moonclip, file it down to less than .2mm thick, and you can use 45auto shells as well..you can also reload 410 shells with firecrackers/jumping jacks, and have a BLAST on the fourth (not in the city)... DUH ...the recoil from heavy 454 Casull Rounds isn't all that... I can shoot it AL day long...though my big macho friend might whine about "it hurts" .. ..check out ShootingTheBull410's Raging Judge Magnum shots as well.there is a Lehigh Maximum Expansion round (would LOVE to find this), that will tickle you to DEATH ...."if you are looking for a 'wholly cow I've been shot reaction' .. I don't know ANYTHING that would do it like this would.. they would KNOW ... ".HIGHLY recommended pistol.Stainless Steel (beaded finish) .. tempted to polish it though ...the 454 Casull Rounds are not cheap, normally around $1.50 each.. but I found some Great Lakes ammo for $1 per round.. 50 for 50.45 colts from them is about the same .. so i'll stick with the 454's...double and triple ot buckshot anywhere from 75 cents to $2 per shot.. do your shopping and math.aim for "handgun rounds" if you can.. the powder is adjusted for the shorter barrel.

awesome, finally! I would have done the Hornady CD 454 Casulls. They're screaming around 1900+ FPS. Also, the 3" 410 federal 000 would have been nice to see. Difference between 2.5" & 3" really is 1 buck shot. 4 vs 5
@earthdog19616 жыл бұрын
I have the short barreled stainless steel version. We (my son and I) can hit head sized steel targets at 30 meters with the 454, even farther with the 45LC, but it has less KNP. Taurus made an awesome pistol!!! The 410 buckshot loads make it a fearsome home defense pistol. When I was stationed on Adak, a PB ripped the window off of the kitchen and invited himself inside. The first two rounds 410 triple 000 Buck to the face confused him, but the third round of 454 Casull put him down and made him cry "mommy". The pistol has provided many a meals of rabbit and squirrel , a few deer, and plenty of feral pig (moved to FL about 10 years ago, Alaska being too cold for the wifey). I so miss AK. The only other gun I can attest to it's versatility is the 30-06. If you know how to reload, you can make small animal rounds or hard hitting big-game loads. The 30-06 is very versatile...(I don't have a 308, but I'm sure the difference is not off by much, & military surplus ammo could be a benefit.) I also run a 375, 223, and a 300 WM. The 300 WM is like a big brother to my Springfield 30-06, while the 375 is like the SHTF, kill it before it kills you option. My 223 with surplus mil-spec ammo seems to keep the freezer more full than my 22-LR, but it's a little more expensive to use, but easy and inexpensive to reload. (Can't reload 22-LR at this date :) ).

I work in an emergency room in New Orleans and worked in Baton Rouge (had way more shooting "victims"). I have learned that the biggest factor for damaging human flesh is the pressure cavity on impact. The ammo that creates the biggest cavity does the most damage to the human body. Penetration is important but the size of the cavity (energy) is by far more important as to damage. Hope this helps

I would be interested in an adjustable sight version that can accept the .460 S&W Magnum round. For defense, I will choose a compact shotgun for in the house, and that little Taurus .38 would be a good choice for concealed carry.
@73North265 Жыл бұрын
It does seem odd for a gun that can already take the pressures of a .454 casull (SAAMI lists both .454 and .460 at max pressure of 65k psi) and has the length of cylinder it has, was not chambered for .460. I mean, if your going to lug a pistol that size around, you might as well go up to .460 (and why not cut it for moonclips as well so you can shoot .45acp like the S&W Governor whilst you are at it).Adjustable sights seems a no brainer as well.
