You should only use Silicone spray to lube the magazines, oil will collect powder residue and gum up the magazine. Silicone lube won’t do that.

I will be uploading a more detailed video shortly....But, if you have FTE/FTF problems that you could not solve, this might be the fix for you. I did not find 'limp wristing' or most ammo to be any problems. I shoot mostly Walmart bulk Federal Automatch. Fairly accurate, and cycles the gun fine. Thank you for this video. I am experiencing jam, failure to extract and failure to feed initially with many different brands and types of commercial quality ammo right out of the box, brand new for my TX22. I polished the barrel ramp and remedied the feed complication. I replace the extractor with the Tandem Kross Eagle Talon unit and spring with no change for failure of extraction. I watched your video and used my flat, machinist diamond stone, with dycome to see how bad these frame to slide pads are. Needless to say, they match the majority of my experiences with Taurus lacking any quality for all machine work procedures, and had high spots on all the pads. Slide fit was fine already, so I did not remove any material other than the percentage of high spots, then finish with Flitz paste and a wool drum for my Dremel. Previously when I installed my Tandem Kross Victory trigger, had polished all internal moving or contact components to remove all the burrs and sharp edges ignored by Taurus. Extraction issue is still present, so I thought of only one reason and component remaining for this problem, mainly brought on by my need to use a small brass rod to push the spent round case from chamber after firing. The barrel chamber. I measured the inside diameter to discover it is .226"-.2265" as the spent case measures .228". For further proof, measured my friends TX22 Lakeling LLC aftermarket barrel to find his chamber inside diameter is .228". I will receive my Lakeline LLC barrel today for remedy of this out of the box ongoing problem. My recent purchase of the Taurus G3C 9mm pistol is another disastrous story that I have now resolved over 2 months of modifying and replacing, internal components, now a Flawless, Dependable, Enjoyable EDC pistol. I have installed 3 other Tandem Kross Victory triggers in these TX22 pistols for others and find large amounts of variances in internal measurements and materials.Taurus customer service was of no benefit or seem trustworthy for me after reading all of the recent purchased pistols massive failures. Nice ergonomics and a fair price initially, but effected by all the repairs made for proper function.

Sorry to hear of your trials. Taurus qc is the main issue. I was lucky with the barrel I got. tho unlike yours, lakeline doesn't make a competition length barrel. So we either get a good one or suffer. Along with the other aspects you mention. I think mine wasn't the worst out there, but certainly not the best. But now that its working it works. Shouldn't have to do this to something right out of the box.

Regular cleaning and light lubrication of mags worked for me. In fact, I clean all 4 mags after every trip to the range because I’ll shoot 12-16 full mags per trip to the range, which is 50-60 rounds per mag per trip.

Try cleaning the inside of your magazines. Sometimes that solves the jamming problem with these tx22s. Use CLP and wipe the inside of the magazine with the magazine spring removed and then dry the inside of the magazine as best as you can. Hope this helps.

@fly4fun463 Жыл бұрын
Cool sounds like yours is on the better side of the quality scale. I find now that any issues with mine are dud rounds that don't cycle the slide fully or an occasional round tip that drags and gets stuck on the front of the magazine top edge when the mag gets dirty. Car wax on inside of mags reduces that. But I shoot 6-700 rds a session. (Speed loader is essential)
@fly4fun463 Жыл бұрын
Oh, one thing I also noticed was I initially used lots of lube. But for me it caused powder and lead residue to get stuck on lots of areas. After polishing the lugs I was able to cut back a lot to just a very light sheen of clo on the friction areas and cleaning is now much easier. I'm at over 12,000 rds now on mine. Really fun to shoot cheap!

Having a lot of FTFs on my new TX-22 as well. One of the two magazines is sticky and does not slide smoothly. Seems like an out-of-tolerance follower component. No surprise that there is a surge in demand now for replacement magazines, and they backordered for months. However I will definately try polishing the slide rails as well. Thanks for the excellent tip!

@@fly4fun463 Tried using some dry lube, but didn't solve the sticky mag slide. Assuming I just got a dud. My other mag works well (and no FTLs for the last 100 rounds). However I also polished the parts you suggested and it slides much more smoothly now. In fact once I removed the anodized finish, I found some fairly deep scratches in the metal. I had to wet sand with 1000 grit to smooth these out. Then I repolished for a nice mirror smooth finish.
@fly4fun463 Жыл бұрын
@@stevenheires9777 the Taurus quality control is evident. Hit or miss for different people. Sounds like one bad mag, but you might try very lightly sanding any plastic burrs or mold flashing off the edges of the follower, then waxing or your dry lube. I also waxed the follower thumb loading "button" grooves and the channels it slides against Some people also lightly sand the inside middle portion of the mags as they have mags that stick in the middle.

You may also try using hi velocity rds, and store it with the slide locked back for a while. If the mags are feeding and not hanging up, many times I'm hearing from other owners that a 500-1000 rd break in period helps. I think polishing in essence helps get thru that period and friction is reduced and it starts functioning better.

@@MrFarmer2345 I had sent mine to Taurus and it was pretty fast last year. But they fired two mags, and sent it back. Same issues. I figured out that for mine the stovepiping was due to the slide not cycling back far enough on lower powered cartridges like fed automatch. I believe the polishing reduced friction enough so lower powered cartridges like fed automatch could cycle the slide, esp on the first rds due to spring pressure on bottom of slide.

I see no reason for polishing the top of the lugs that hold the barrel because the barrel does not move during firing. It should make it easier to attach slide and take it off.

Grooves under those lugs is where the slide runs and that is hard to polish. Polishing the outside of those lugs though, should help make the slide run better.

Is possible that you had the problem because you have that red dot on top and it affect the slide.
@fly4fun4633 ай бұрын
Not in this case...this Competition model the optic mounts directly to the barrel, and the slide cycles 'around' the optic. Partly why I wanted to try this one. So the optic mass does not affect the slide cycling like on the base tx 22.
