You bought a trashed Lamborghini and rebuilt it in your garage with no factory training, and no previous Lamborghini repair experience. You just took it for a blast down the street not long atter it came to you as a mess. That's a better accomplishment than making 1000 horsepower

Hunts By Chainsaw and most cars dyno #/0.85. So if this car had an 85% conversion rate from the crank it would take 850hp on the dyno to produce 1000 on the crank 850/0.85=1000. This is just a simple explanation the exact conversion figures and the dyno itself would have to be taken into consideration for an accurate formula for any specific purpose.

A "white powder" kitchen or garage extinguisher is a buck more, and doesn't corrode things as badly. You'd also find, if you've never used an extinguisher? Those small ones won't put out a lot of fire, if you are seriously considering an engine fire, get two.

@filippopages51356 жыл бұрын
I did watch all the videos, and he almost never states any price, plus all the difficult/expensive work has been done by people which "helped him", people that normally would be paid to do that work. But don't get me wrong, I don't blame him for that, good for him that he didn't have to pay a fabricator, a tuner with dyno and other shit, but is pissing me off when he makes false claim such as "a twin turbo kit that I totally built in my garage(turbo kit was previously done, he turned a couple of things etc, but definetly he hasn't built it himself)", or in one of the last titles "how I make my lambo spitting flames (set up by a tuner, not him)" . Overall his attitude is making clickbait titles, milking this build as much as he can to make $$, even if it means making a video where he does absolutely nothing besides talking, and claiming to do things which in the end are (luckily for the car) done by professionals. If it wasn't for these professionals that car would be sitting in the driveway ready to go on craigslist as "unfinished project" in a year or so (MR2 anyone??)

Not alone the fact that +1000hp supras and skylines are typically "poor" to drive, as the power peaks at 2000rpm band between 5500-8000rpm - like you have 100-350hp between 1500-4500rpm and then *BANG" within 1000rpm you gain the +500hp more. The dyno graph for Tavarish was smooth, almost like naturally aspirated engine. The current dyno graph is perfect for all around use and will make it faster in "daily driving" as it will stay way more driveable.

I got lambasted for my claims on this cars hp expectations. I think you won and don't fault you for your 1000hp expectations. I said from the very start that 800 rear wheel hp is a complete win for that car and that is nothing to slight. Regardless of what you say about what that car would of put out on that particular dyno new, or any other. I understand what it was claimed to put out in oem trim. I also understand that doubling any cars hp is an astronomical feat with stock heads and displacement and that takes a lot of money and time that no twin turbo job is just going to magically do. I sit here typing in a form of vindication. I got called a lot of things that called me ignorant and uninformed about cars that I said that it was unreasonable to expect this car to make a 1000 hp and that 800hp is a win. For all the keyboard warriors that don't know their ass from a hole in the ground that called me out..... I'm third gen car man that's had my hands on a lot of hot shit and still do every damn day. I'm gonna be looking for a dozen or so to come in with apologies. hahahaha. (not really, but they should), Good Job Man. I'm not dissing you. I understand what you got and how one can get speculative. I'm just taking my opportunity to gloat. A lot of people that run dynos and make youtube videos, pump a lot of people full of shit, because not all dynos are the same and they like to make people feel good about their money spent. 600 to 900 hp at the wheels on anything is a kick in the pants and nothing to take lightly. I'll end with the same as I quoted last time I commented on wait and see.. "So you say your car makes >>>>>>> hp?, Bring that down to my dyno and I'll choke it down to reality." Tony Clements. Clements Racing Engines. S.C.

At this level of power that AWD system really needs to come back online to both fix up the handling as well as relieve some stress from the now overstressed rear drivetrain. The understeer is NOT the fault of the AWD system since this drivetrain is designed to send a relatively small portion of torque to the front. The real problem is the suspension setup designed to protect morons that have more money than driving skill from killing themselves and of course, avoid getting sued.

If you want a driveable car that isn't going to be tuned to the dangerous edge and not waste a ton of money on blown parts and expensive fuel, get the car fine tuned for it and spend the money on the body work and making it bulletproof. "Fast" is subjective. If your car feels plenty fast (or, as you say , "fasted and scariest car" you've ever driven) and you are not building a track car, then you may wanna re-examine your goals. Getting dyno numbers is a rabbit hole, trust me. Its your car and your money so I'm not trying to be some internet douche. I think most of us wanna see a fast, good looking car that falls under the umbrella of a "Cheap Lamborghini" and stays true to that. Either way, bruh I'm enjoying the journey and am very happy for you. Nothing like having a car take your breath away.

621 at the wheels on pump fuel.. on a unhappy mustang dyno, on low boost and what appears to be a super safe tune, this is an impressive result. Remember this is only around 300 cubic inch motor. E85 and retune quite easily net around 1100 hp at the crank, safely. Bigger turbos + more fuel would probably be needed to go up from there.

most cars lose between 15-30% crank hp after the power is transferred through the drivetrain, theres alot of moving parts and depending on the tune, gearing, tire size, wheel/tire weight, diff type, etc are all factors in how much hp you are going to have at the wheel. also no dyno is exactly the same though most have a calibration that is universal some dont and and they are never exact on numbers mainly an close estimate. mustang dyno's like the one they used are car specific and dont push proper number for anything else.

Either his dyno is WAY off or something is wrong, a built v10 twin turbo on 93 should EASILY be making over 1000. Plenty have done it, plenty are. The excuse that the numbers are so low because it was a mustang dyno is not even close to accurate. Most mustang dyno numbers ive ever seen are within 10-15% of a dynojets. Stock Evos acomplish a 20-22% drivetrain loss with AWD most people will agree. No way in hell is a $100k+ supercar gonna have more drivetrain loss then that. It made 620 Wheel or so RWD and you assumed a 30% loss on RWD only? So youd be expecting what 40% with AWD engaged? It doesnt add up at all man, go back to Cleetus/Jeremy

I don't build engines or have any kind of working knowledge of this subject per se... However, I have been a car lover & owner of many sports cars my whole life. I keep up with the various technologies of tuning as it does interest me. I have to agree with your statement 100%. I think the problem is either with the tune, or maybe with the hardware somehow (incorrect installation). Again, I'm a total layman so my opinion is not worth much but I do know the car should be an ABSOLUTE MONSTER in terms of raw #s. Time to find another shop...

What do you mean 1000hp? It makes 1500hp now... Hell if your going to use you imagination and ignore what the dyno says why not go REALLY BIG. So let see 900hp minus 618 the dyno showed that's a 282 hp loss through a transverse gearbox and single diff. A highly engineered gearbox and diff is good for 282hp loss... Nah I think that is probably more like 882hp loss since we are talking pie in the sky guesses.
@DodgyBrothersEngineering6 жыл бұрын
Apart from tuning it to damage the turbos , engine at Tavrish's request. Erik seemed to do a pretty reasonable job of the tuning, but there is only so much juice you can squeeze out of a lemon. When it comes to hp the 10 cylinders means diddly squat, it comes down to the capacity of those cylinders and that is a pissy 305 ci or 5 litres. The smallest V8 I have ever owned was bigger than that. Then you are talking a meager 10 psi of boost (don't think the actual amount was shown) so 305 * 1.68 = 512 ci in NA terms, so 620 hp out of a 512 ci engine is pretty damn respectable. Is it a 1000 hp? Hell no, but the math isn't there to support it making much more. Tavarish is being overly optimistic like a kid who has never owned a high hp car before. You don't just make a 1000 hp, you work for a 1000 hp. He is not going to see a "real" 1000 hp (as in that is what the dyno says not pie in the sky guesses) until he is running over 20 psi of boost, in fact he may need closer to 25 psi of boost to do it. You get to a point of diminishing returns with boost, you don't simply add more and expect the power to go up proportionally. He will make that engine work for it to see a real 1000 hp.

There is an old saying spend a little more and do it once, or do it on the cheap and pay many times. I don't think things are being done particularly cheap (cheap is a relative term) but there is definitely some corners being cut.
@1rstGear6 жыл бұрын
@@DodgyBrothersEngineering I definitely see where you're coming from but boost pressure doesn't mean anything either when it comes to making power. You can't generalize how much boost it'd take to make a 5.0 liter engine produce 1,000whp until you know how well the engine flows, and more importantly, if the turbochargers can support the target air flow, as well as where it produces said air flow on the compressor map's island of efficiency and what total air flow capacity is. All of that is an important information that must be known to calculate whether or not the Gallardo can hit 1,000whp at x amount of manifold pressure. Some turbos may provide the flow to produce that amount of power at a different compressor shaft speed than others. If you took a 3.0 liter engine and had a hypothetical target output of 600whp you could have a couple of turbos in front of you that would fit the bill. 1 may produce the flow to make 600whp at 25psi, the other may supply the flow to support 600whp at 14psi. Although they both produce the hypothetical target horsepower of 600whp one of them is going to have a far higher power ceiling than the other because compressor choice and flow rate determines the amount of m.a.p. needed to hit what ever power goal is set to be achieved. He may have only hit 620whp at an assumed 10psi, but being off the island on the compressor map on either side means the flow needed to support the power it made, is not going to be ideal for the given compressor design and what he made at 10psi, could be 200hp or 300 less than what that same set of turbos could produce with just 5psi more boost pressure. Bottom line, you can't tell what any engine needs pressure wise to support any horsepower level, until you know what the target flow rate is, and at what available pressure ratio, and how well the cylinder heads, induction system, and in the most ideal situation, the exhaust system flow...... but I do agree with you, shooting in the dark is no way to guesstimate potential output. I think the other issue is people totally put way too much stock in dyno readings. It's a tune to tune with. I wanna know what happens when I toss 1-2 degrees of timing at it. Did it make more power? Great. Are the A.F.R.'s correct? Great. But you could see 2 dynos produce 2 different readings on the same car in the same conditions. It's nice to know, but I wanna see trap speeds more than just dyno numbers ......
@DodgyBrothersEngineering6 жыл бұрын
William Warren this is the problem when you start using hypertheticals and best case scenarios to guess at a power output. It is nice to think a best case scenario is going to happen, but chances are in the real world it never will. Kind of a bit of the emperor's new clothes going on here, you can con yourself into believing whatever you want, but it isn't going to change reality. You are always going to be limited by the things you don't add into the equation like a declining compressor efficiency, or boost issues due to increasing heat. More boost produces less and less efficient power, because the intake temp continues to rise with boost. It will never be a case of I made this much at 5 pounds so I can double it for 10 pounds. It is this kind of short sighted thinking is why he never made the power the piece of paper said it should.
@1rstGear6 жыл бұрын
@@DodgyBrothersEngineering yep Adiabatic expansion will kill off the power you think it can make if compressor efficiency is garbage and you keep upping boost pressure. I'm actually really interested to see how much boost itd take with those turbos to eclipse 850-900whp. That would give us more of an idea how much more its take to hit the 1,000whp mark. I'm also curious about the timing and fuel maps. I wonder what the w.o.t. timing looks like and what the compression ratio is on that built engine....

Yep part of the "battle" with a car of that HP is fine tuning that sweet spot that comes from a level of boost prediction and practice with said car to know when it's going to kick. Important. If you start to get out of shape. STEP ON THE CLUTCH. That will disconnect the rotating mass of the crank, flywheel and clutch cover from the wheels. This will stop you from powering off into the ditch or worse in a slide. The engine speed up you mentioned may be learned out by driving or the idle air control percentages when you depress the clutch can be tweaked slightly in the programming. Thanks for spending the time on the dyno at low speeds to make drivable.
