It was love at first sight when we arrived to Tavira Portugal and this rarely happens to us! Tavira is a very special place, and we even dare to say, maybe the most beautiful and pleasant town in the Algarve Region!

I'm looking forward to spending three weeks there this fall (taking my golf clubs). Tavira is more of a year-round place to visit as the western Algarve can be really dead during the winter. Also, as you said, less toursity, more authentic, great place to relax. Thanks for the video!

The old man in the market 03.50 said " You should take a picture of the fruit seller because she is very pretty " It was just a reason to call her pretty and pay her a compliment... he also used the term "Menina" (Miss or girl) which is usualy used to address much younger ladies... Hello - it's not walkable. You have to take the water taxi or a little 'tourist train' that should run through the high season. We never took the 'train', but it drives on a narrow road which I don't think is suitable for walking.

The ‘tourist train’ goes to another beach also on Tavira Island. It leaves from a community near Tavira called Pedras de’l Rei-which is about 3 miles from Tavira’s historic center. We took a bus from Tavira to Pedras de’l Rei. While bus service is infrequent it is very affordable and easier than walking. The train is also a fun way to the beach. 👋🏻

The train is not to Tavira Island. The train is to Barril beach. They are two totally different places. Both beautiful. Barrel beach IS accessible by foot

Hi! We haven't been in August, but that part of Europe is very hot during the Summer. It should be perfect weather to go for a swim because it will be very hot ;)

Weather is very hot. The ocean is very cold. It's the Atlantic and there are currents which can make it freezing. It's a thing. It's also random.

Is it easy to find parking spots in Tavira? And in general in Algarve region? Can I pay by credit card for parking? Sorry too many questions but parking always stress me out.

We don't have much info on this. It depends on where you go and the season... probably not a great idea to drive during the Summer... maybe try finding Airbnbs with parking? It's always stressful with a car, so we never do it (also to save money lol)

Yes. Parking is easy. There are machines payable by downloaded app. There's also plentiful free parking. The city is 100% walkable
