Estuve en Tavira 2006 con mi familia, fuimos al mercado y paseamos por sus calles. Después de un día fantástico regresamos a Ayamonte, Huelva (España). Para nosotros Portugal es una extensión más de España y para Portugal, España es una extensión más de ellos. Libres de entrar y salir, libres como primos hermanos. Un abrazo a los portugueses y a Tavira. Regresaremos.

We did the same in 2015, from monte Gordo to Ayamonte. Felt I was getting 2 holidays for price of 1. Its beautiful there.

I think I can only really speak for where we stayed (didnt spend much time researching accommodation for this one as it was a last minute trip so just went by availability!) but we stayed at Maria Nova lounge hotel which was adults only, so could be one for you to take a look at (although I'm not sure I would say it was particularly romantic?)

What a superb video,probably the best ,ve seen on KZbin 👌👌 i,ve been reading up on Tavira & it looks stunning,i,m due to retire next year from the uk ( i will be 55) any idea on what it is like for retirement?? i.e are there many expats,rental properties etc ?? Thank you ❤

And congratulations on your upcoming retirement 🙂🥂 I don't think I'm best placed to advise on expats/retirement as we don't know much about that side of things (still have a lot of the 9 to 5 life left to go!). As far as I'm aware the algarve in general is popular with expats but that's the extent of what I know. Sorry I can't be of more help!

We stayed at Maria Nova lounge hotel (adults only). It was v clean and modern, with a swimming pool which was very welcome in the heat! But it depends on what sort of accommodation you're looking for 🙂 Hope you have a nice trip to Tavira!

You have to be very, very careful in Tavara. Only rent and purchase property with a well know large international agency. I was robbed and attacked by one of the small local agencies. It's critical to only rent and buy from large known companies like Century 21. I have been informed that there is a large criminal element in the Algarve and the police are often involved.
