Yes to the last part . Do not give them all of the advice, instead tell them . I would love to assist you with that, would you like to come in to my office and go over details. Charge a consultation fee, i recommend you transfer the consultation fee to the tax preparation fee once the client decides to file with you .

Yes. I thought that was crazy too but it is a one time fee and a great incentive. Once you have the client, it is tour job to keep them as a repeated customer. At the end it is a client you were not going to have .
