Tax report and return | Odoo Accounting

Hi Odoo, on 2:41 how does the "tax advance account" works? I couldnt find any documentation about it...

I have been manually generating expense journal entries and accounting for VAT in each entry. However, these entries are not appearing in the tax report, whereas VAT from bills and invoices is reflected correctly. Could you please explain why this discrepancy occurs?
