And this is my most inexperienced part of building the cart. Tensioner? Taking one link out? Lining the chain up to the sprockets (I get that’s with a spacer though) Thanks
@TheCrazyCartModChannel2 ай бұрын
@@MostWantedrifter my flipsky 7070 just arrived and I'll be installing that. I want to make an ultimate video covering everything. I'm the meantime I will say this about chains. I've got a solution to get rid of the tensioner. Remove enough links so that the stock position is tight but you can still get the chain on by rotating the sprocket. You get longer motor mount screws, like 1 inch. You adjust the chain tension by lowering the motor until the tension is just right. Figure out how many washers you can fit behind the motor on one side. Put them there and tighten that side down. The chain should still be loose. You tighten the side without the washers so the chain becomes the proper tension. I will include this into the video. Please like the video if I've helped

I'm currently going to get a Crazy Cart XL this weekend, I want to fully mod it a bunch. I have a stock 60v 32 ah surron battery, and the battery compartment for the crazy cart xl is 14 inches, and my battery is 14.5 inches, I am not entirely sure if I want to try to fit the battery in the and then put a hole into the battery compartment so I can run the wires out or if I should put the battery right to the left of the battery compartment. I have 2 concerns though, if the battery will throw off the center of mass, and if I do that if I should also put something equal weight in the battery compartment to even things out. I see you have your battery to the left though, and I know the regular crazy cart is wayyyy less heavy and so in a ratio of the weight of the battery to the whole thing, yours is probably heavier, so realistically I should be good + the XL has extra safety casters so I should be all good. Just a bit worried about that. Besides that I just have wait for the charged 3d kit for the xl to come back in stock, not entirely sure what the difference between the standard and XL, and then I will probably put a disk brake on it with an e-bike lever with a switch on it for hall sensor effect braking so I can use it as a regen brake + an actual disk brake!!!!

@@BrandyMullens well, as far as I've seen the controllers are much more wattage than the stock motor and wouldn't matter at all, but you do have to match the voltage because the controller will have a minimum voltage it will send to the motor. Just know that at 36v your only going to be increasing motor speed by about 50% and will only get about 17-18mph, which may be plenty for you. So I’m buying a stock used crazy cart of Facebook marketplace. I want to do a simple battery and controller upgrade. I’m a little confused on the charging situation. Do you use the 48v regular charger for all three of your carts? And how would I have to modify the charger to charge them? Also, if I decided to spend extra money to buy the lithium batteries, how hard would it be to set them up and replace the old ones.
@TheCrazyCartModChannel4 ай бұрын
@@Jackson_Iles I would absolutely go with the lifepo4 batteries. The capacity and power delivery is so much better than the SLA. There's a charger for them in the parts list and I used XT60 connectors for the controller, battery and charger at this point. I made the battery side female, and the other two connectors male so you can't accidentally plug the charger into the controller and kill it. To mount the batteries just use these $2 straps from home Depot. Bend them and drill holes out to line up with the Allen screws on the front side, then use 2 self tapping screws (or bolts if you want) for the back side between the battery and seat. While you can use the 48v SLA charger on the lithium batteries, you may not get the same charge. Lithium charges at a constant voltage and current, while SLA batteries charge at a voltage that steps up to stay a certain amount above the batteries voltage. I honestly don't know that it matters too much, as when I used the SLA charger the batteries still charged. But I think you would definitely not want to use the lithium charger on an SLA setup. Thankfully, the blue charger in the links has colored red and black wires, so you don't have to guess the polarity of the wires. I'll make a community post showing the straps and connectors.
@Jackson_Iles4 ай бұрын
@@TheCrazyCartModChannel my biggest thing is I want range. And I don’t want to have to do cutting on the chargers. If I just bought the four lithium lifepo4 batteries, and the charger that you linked I wouldn’t have to do any cutting. And I could run that on the 48 V controller you suggested and the stock motor. Did I get that all right? Lithium batteries are more expensive but they should get more range right? I want the best set up that I can get on the stock motor.

After charging it I check the battery and my volt meter read 53v with full battery. The moment i turned the the cart it it immediately started go to full speed without me pressing the pedal. I couldn’t stop the cart and accidentally crashed it the garage. After crashing I turned off the cart and finally the cart stopped. I’ve been scratching my head trying to figure out what went wrong. Now everything I charge it to green and try it again it has the same problem. I even tried giving the pedal cable more slack thinking that it was pinching and forcing the pedal to accelerate. I’m assuming the there might be something wrong with my controller or pedal. When I opened up the controller, I saw a little spot of black dust on the inside. Now when connecting everything together once again it doesn’t work at all. Did you ever had this problem or do you have any suggestions on how to fix this? Anything helps thank man for all these helpful video. You’re the best!
@TheCrazyCartModChannelАй бұрын
@@KaneLam-p3b dude I am SO sorry to hear that! That is just plain strange! My advice would be to prop the cart up on a brick or a tire or something to where it is freewheeling when you turn it on. Unplug the pedal connection and turn the car on to see if it still runs the motor. If the motor runs with the pedal disconnected then that signifies there's something going on in the controller. Let's start from there. Again man, I'm sorry and I hope everything is ok! By the way you should never turn the card on unless you are sitting on it. @@jackofisho6417 happy to help! you can get the 1000w controller from the parts list, but you could also probably get a stronger one than that as well if you find one you want. I have read some blog posts about doubling the voltage actually quadrupling the power and I don't understand it but there were scientific equations included. @@menameispat9761 unless I'm misunderstanding somehow, what I just suggested would literally be what you're asking for. A vehicle graphics place would take your image/design and print it out into a vinyl that would then be applied to the cart. They could probably even design it for you if you want. The yard at my work rents out space to people who apply these gigantic vinyls onto semi trailers.

You think it would work if I just bought an adhesive one on amazon? Think it would be cheaper than going to a shop@Francisco-Danconia
@TheCrazyCartModChannel4 ай бұрын
@@menameispat9761 Well it will just about always be cheaper doing something yourself vs Paying a person to do it. There's also Hydro dipping, which is pretty cool, but you'd need a large container like an inflatable pool or something. There are tons of hydro dip things on Amazon you would probably love and you can just watch tutorials on youtube for instructions. I have no experience with it, but I just might go for that myself. An adhesive on amazon could be a cool option as well, which I also have no experience with. Keep me posted on how it turns out!

@TheCrazyCartModChannel4 ай бұрын
I am SO sorry, I thought I responded to this. something must have distracted me. it sounds like you probably need to invest $20 or so into a new controller or get a new charger... If it stopped charging, and especially if the charger is spitting out liquid I'd say start there first. If you have a car charger you can charge each battery manually at 12V just to see if it's the controller or the batteries being dead. Get a volt meter for cheap at harbor freight and see how much voltage is coming out of the battery plug. Either way, it should be an easy fix. Just let me know what you find.

Will overvolting the motor not fry it?
@TheCrazyCartModChannel3 ай бұрын
The tiny 250W motor can overheat quickly depending on your weight and how much load you are putting on it. My 90 lb kids have zero issues, but me at 155 I had to take a brake every 20 mins or so. The 350 Motor I use on the Yellow cart handles the power SO much better. I have not had to stop with that one. But I would recommend the 500W Alveytech upgrade from the parts list.

I upgraded my controller and battery to a 48 volt for both and I’m noticing that my 24v stock engine is getting really hot, is it just a matter of time before it burns out or am I fine, should I upgrade engine and if so what’s my best option thanks in advance
@TheCrazyCartModChannel4 ай бұрын
@@manuel8a250 if it gets too hot the enamel will burn on the windings and will no longer generate the electromagnetic field that spins the motor, so definitely take breaks on the stock motor. At this point I would recommend the 500w motor as it's a simple bolt in and should easily be able to handle the power. The upgrade from that is recommend is the flipsky 7070 brushless in the Google doc, but you have to make your own mount and but the brushless controller as well. This was just a goose to go fast for cheap.

@@rebeccanguyen6701 There's certainly the possibility of it overheating if you don't keep an eye on it. You don't want to melt the enamel coating off the windings. My two carts running stock motors have no issues at far, and the 350W motor I'm using handles the power much much better.
