Hi. I think you might want to talk more about Tencents portfolio. It really is kind of like a Berkshire. It has 14% of PDD, it also has a share of Kuaishou, it had JD, I think Meituan too. And other interesting companies like Spotify, Nio, Huya and I think some Bytedance too, among others. I’m curious about PDD, why all that suspicious. I like Baidu more than you though. I think that is the future of “robotaxis” and it’s Ernie bot llm is promising. Although I’ve also seen that Tencent launched its own llm.

They've "divested" JD and Meituan, in the forms of special dividends. On Baidu, I think they've sold a good story, they just need to show it in numbers

I also like Baidu right now. Robotaxi's have been money losing for 7 years, but should become break-even/ profitable by the end of this year. Their new Apollo RT6 is half the cost of the previous version (28,000 -34,000 USD), they are ramping up now going from 55% safety driver rides last year to 25% last month (so 75% driverless and on their way to 100%). Wuhan is now 24*7 operation and will expand from 300 to 1000 vehicle fleet. IMO this part of their business is about to scale up like crazy. Lower costs and higher returns.

I agree Tencent MOAT is very strong I also think maybe some people fear the regulation on gaming but the CPC shows they normally regulate once and than leave alone.

Tencent doesnt have to expand outside China, They just need to improve the ARPU for users in the app, Also china are now a lower-mid income country, if the GDP per capita increases in china, Tencent will make much more money ( People will pay more for advertisements and subscriptions) . Also im sure that the chinese people that havent moved to the cities are not using WeChat as much so they could see an increase of hours of activity of wechat for those.

Agreed. Tencent seems quite aggressive in expanding their overseas gaming biz (for obvious reasons).

I think if you are looking at Xiaomi as a tech stock, you should look at BYD too.

Hi Chi Keng, what do u think of China Tourism Group (CTG DUTY-FREE). Bought some last year believing end of Covid restriction, China re-opening and growing middle class will bode well for this company. But it has tanked. I am an investor rather than a trader. Tks.

Haven't really looked at them. If you can summarize CTG, what's their moat, and why you think they will be bigger and stronger in the next 5-10 years?
