Hi Taylor, while you are having rain in Maine we are under some hazardous air alerts because of the forest fires in Canada. It’s too bad that new pump didn’t solve your hydraulic problems on your tractor. It could be that pressure valve or it could be something on your mower. The great thing about your videos is that you take the time to explain detail what you are doing and that’s why they are so informative. You and Brent make a great team. Keep smiling and I will set my alarm for you next video. 😉

I hope you have your tractor fix already. Remember "new" parts can also be bad. Also are there any seals or orings that need to be put on the replacement pump? I am not a International tech but there often is a seal or oring between the pump and the mounting. Calf was calling you when you walked away to get another shovel of sawdust. They sure are cute calves. Hope you all stay safe and healthy.

Another great video at your farm Taylor. They say 'if you don't succeed, try try again'. Why not look at it this way, you now have a new pump, new filter and posible a new pressure value. Those bits shouldn't need changing for a long time and you have piece of mind your hydraulics should be in good shape on that tractor. At least you kept the oil off your jeans this time. Ha Ha! I hope the extra rain helps the grass in your fields grow. I would like to say you and Brent are a great team and compliment each other with the farm chores. Keep on keeping on. On the up side, you now have a spare pump and a bunch of practical knowledge of hydraulic systems. That's way easier to change than a Deere of that vintage, you have to take the whole front axle off. You continue to gain my respect. That dairy barn sure is a nice place to work. Best regards from Indiana.

Just another day in the life of a farmer. If it broke you go for the obvious. But it seems like that is never the fix. It always turns out to be the least obvious. When you were cleaning the calves pen, it reminded me of my time in cleaning the barn. Pitchforks, shovels and wheelbarrows. We did get an automatic barn cleaner after awhile though. Loved the automation at the time. The smell of cow manure is something you don't forget. Running through some of the roads here in Pa. I still smell cow manure. There are a lot of farms here. But people are getting out of farming here as in other places. Nobody wants to work in a labor intensive job any more. Hope you gt your Farmall fixed soon. Bad news when you lose a tractor. Good luck and God bless.

You'll get the 1066 back online, I'm sure. My bet is either debris caught in the relief valve, a broken spring in the relief valve assembly, or a blown out o-ring somewhere. All of these things could cause sudden loss of function, which I think is what happened. Anyway, I'll be interested to hear about the next steps!

As often as I have seen tractors with hydraulic problems, it has rarely been the pump. My dad had a JD with a loader. It was forever having poor hydraulics. It was okay when the loader was off, but with the loader on, it was terrible. He used that tractor for another 10 years and finally figured out it was the valves on the loader. They were bypassing some how, letting all the hydraulic pressure go. Fast forward 15 years and my neighbor had same type of issues on a tractor with a loader (Ford I think). The same thing happened. He replaced the loader valves and it was working fine. Don't know for sure what could be the issue on Big Red. Little concerned about the oil around the filter being milky. Something doesn't seem to be circulating very well. I don't know Tay. Wish I knew hydraulics better. Stay dry!

I thank you for the 2 inches of rain you sent me along request but please send me another 4 to 6 inches lol hahaha! And yes humid days mean famp yucky barns fun fun ! I dont know what your pasture per cow ratio is but here we need at least 1 acre per cow on normal years then them being on pasture during wet muddy times don't hurt nothing !

Hey Taylor I think the problem is an inner leak inside the oil system. A blown o ring or gasket. Hope you find out what is wrong! Look in hydraulic block that the oil goes first to, because none of the system works right?
@stevecobb7844
@stevecobb7844 Жыл бұрын
Sorry the pump replacement didn't fix your hydraulics. I lost hydraulics on a New Holland tractor. (external pump). I was checking around for a pump to buy. I then happened to noticed a bleed valve at the pump. I bled the air out and tightened the screw. Hydraulics worked perfect after bleeding. I later found a hairline crack at a metal hydraulic line that was causing it to leak. Had that brazed, it works perfect now. Bottom line, does your hydraulic system just need to have the air bled out from it?

Tay I am not real familiar with the 1066 been a while since I saw one but are the other implement handles in the correct place? none of them dumping off the pump pressure? I would think the handle for the hydraulics should kick itself out if it builds pressure, if it never kicks it self off I would think there may be a leak so it cannot build pressure. Sorry if this is not helpful jus trying to think of anything that may help. Stay safe and healthy Tay.

@tpfromcentralpa1692
@tpfromcentralpa1692 Жыл бұрын
Shouldn't, cycling the 3pt or remote should do it. With that said their is a o-ring in the rear on the suction side that sometimes leak, splitting the case is the only way to replace it, most IH mechanics just add 5 gal more oil AFTER the dipstick says its full, the oil then is covering this o-ring which solves the leak allowing proper pickup from the filter. Its also a good idea IMHO to add the oil because of the bull gear final drive which needs all the lube it can get. I run all my own 5 gal over for just that reason.
