I was 16 when I first heard this song in 1986. I didn't know what James sang about because I wasn't a speaker of English, but I felt something from the word Sanitarium and their performance.And I finally found my imagination was right when I saw this video.Metallica is really an artist.

Metallica of the 80s was fucking awesome, the current Metallica is ok I guess, its a shame we have to get old. Young people, cherish your youth, it will be taken from you while you are busy trying to live up to the worlds expectations of what they think you should be. i’ve been addicted to Metallica since 1987 when I heard the album Master of the Puppetsfirst time. I was a fifth grader in elementary school. Master of puppets was and is the mind blowing album! Since that, the band has had a special place within the journey of my life and no doubt their music has been salvation and relief during the moments of anxiety and times of anger. The band has gotten under my skin and there haven’t been no coming back after that. So I’m standing in the troops of Metallica. "A man can leave Metallica, but Metallica won't leave a man” 🫡

This is the Metallica we all knew and loved. So sad to see them lose all this for what they stood against - normality. Sober, wealthy, family guys cannot make convincing thrash! I last saw them live in 1986 and their live shows in those days remain some of my best memories.
@serigraph73
@serigraph73 3 жыл бұрын
you do know people age, grow, change and all of that, right? No one stays exactly the same forever. Yes, their prime has passed, but how would you liked to be judged the way you are judging them? what would you do if you were wealthy beyond belief? Stay, stuck in a mind set of self destruction? Maybe you would, but at least they are mature enough to realize if they want to be healthy human beings, they needed to change. How dare they want to be healthy and raise families!

Among the people is he whose speech about the worldly life impresses you, and he calls The God to witness what is in his heart, while he is the most hostile of adversaries. 205. When he gains power, he strives to spread corruption on earth, destroying properties and lives. God does not like corruption. 206. Mental illness is a horrible thing. At some point it was decided here in the United States to close the majority of these mental hospitals and they were truly horrible places. However now our cities are choked with the poor souls who suffer with mental health issues. You see them everywhere, in the freezing cold and im the blistering heat. I'm almost convinced that these old hospitals were better than the conditions the mentally ill have now. My heart goes out to these poor souls.

the problem we have today is otherwise qualified individuals capable of working at these mental institutions are being murdered with Fentynal that our democratic government is allowing to flow freely across their open border policy

I'd always imagined the video for this song like this: slow parts; James sitting in the corner, gazing into nothing and singing, other band members behaving differently (Ex.: Cliff looking around and breathing nervously, Kirk wanting to strangle the nurse, Lars being lobotomized), then when the fast part comes, all four of them break out of their cell and escape, meanwhile James having a panic attack while singing.
