As an nfl fan from the Uk 🇬🇧 I absolutely love your football but find some of the rules very weird and a bit contradicting for example if a wide receiver is catching a pass at the side of the field he has to have two feet in bounds to make it a completion yet a player can dive out of bounds at the goal line but touch the pylon and it’s a touchdown ??!! Surely the player needs to cross the goal line or at least the ball should??

@@macjonesburner027 yeah todd bowles’ defense has a major weakness. the zones are too soft so if you have a qb that can either hold onto the ball an extra second and get away from the extra defender rushing, or if you have a patient qb, the receivers can easily get open. It was just perfect for Heinicke to play against. Reminded me of Drew Brees picking apart the Bucs defense (with the same problems they showed today) earlier in the season.

I’ve been a Washington fan for 35 years and this moment almost made me cry. I’ve never been so desperate for points and seen a more improbable guy for my team make such an amazing play in a more important situation. I just screamed, “YES! OMG!” And I sat there for a moment to make sure I was really witnessing it. Sure enough, it was real. It happened. Taylor Heinicke actually did this. I’ll always remember this as the day Taylor Heinicke battled Tom Brady in the playoffs and almost won. He played so damn well it was incredible to watch.

And for this, he has the respect of many Washington fans. We are always rooting for him and happy he gets another chance this Sunday. He is exciting to watch and leaves it all on the field. Yes he makes mistakes, but he isn’t breaking the bank and he will give our team that spark we are missing. I know he will also give Mcclurin some much needed targets. I can’t wait to watch the game. We have been pitiful and really only our defense has shown up with flashes of the offense.

Every first down was brutally tough but Heinicke led them down and beat the Bucs. It was unreal to watch that drive.

He's a math major at Old Dominion University where my son goes to school. Four weeks ago he was just a college student sitting in classes. He had to get permission from two of his professors to leave before the end of the semester to play football. He was taking Partial Differential Equations, Discrete Math, Number Theory, and Numerical Analysis this semester. The fact that he could just show up for week 16 of the season, memorize an NFL playbook and perform in a playoff game is amazing.

He was a guy that got an opportunity and ran with it. He made himself some money tonight and probably will be a backup. He had nothing to lose so he could play free, if he lost it wouldn’t matter bc no one expected a 3rd string QB in his first start to beat Tom Brady. NFL defenses will learn your habits when given enough tape and that’s where this guy just hasn’t played enough he caught Tampa by surprise. He’s definitely got the talent but long term I’m not sure he’s a for sure starter. I see him more as a quality backup and nothing wrong with that

Y'all don't know the difference between being realistic, and being condescending. Guy put himself above minimum 4 other QBs. There are terrible starters out there right now (Teddy apparently, Newton, etc) this guy can be a starting QB with the right coach and support (off the field first, but also on the field). Y'all are limiting him because he wasn't directly drafted straight outta college and shit. He has time to become a starter. Don't speak as if backup forever is his definite position

Seriously. The dude can ball. His awareness was on point too. There was this one play where a lineman batted his ball back to him and instead of trying to recover it for a loss, he just swats it down to the ground. I saw Tom Brady had the same exact thing happen to him a week or two ago and he ends up catching his own batted ball and tries to throw it to Gronk lmao and got flagged. Yeah I hope he’s around to stay for a while, or at least have a couple more opportunities
