How on earth can a convicted felon become an attorney, when most felons have a list of about 18 places that MIGHT hire a felon. I don't understand it. Almost every comment from an ex prisoner is like "yeah I did 13 years for a horrible crime, but now I own a Lamborghini and 3 businesses...if I could do it, anyone can!" Like... what? None of these comments make any sense to me. I can understand becoming a YTer, but coming out from prison with serious charges, and hoping to get a better job than Jack in the Box, just doesn't make sense to me. I've seen the most low paying jobs...disqualify people if they even have so much as a petty theft charge...yet somehow people with armed robbery charges on coming out saying they own a company which helps businesses transport their large amounts of money to banks. Do felons have a "get rich after prison" school that every single one of yall attend, and come out with a business degree, and 2 businesses to run? Make it make sense. This comment in NO way is a jab against former inmates...I've just always wondered about this. Almost every single person who comments about how they spent 5, 10, 15, 20 years in prison, which in everyday life would prevent them from barely getting a minimum wage job...they all seem to own businesses or be so much farther in life than even people who went to college and stayed straight.
@MomMom4Cubs
@MomMom4Cubs Жыл бұрын
@knado8135 Whilst what you said is true, you're missing a fundamental factor; no state bar association allows convicted felons to retain their membership and doesn't allow felons to join (if you could even get into an accredited university or secure sufficient loans/grants/scholarships at all with a felony). I know someone can earn a Certificate of Good Conduct and/or Relief. Those are usually very difficult to attain because they're issued by the sentencing jurisdiction, and likely the same judge that convicted and/or sentenced you to prison (sometimes issuance is the prerogative of a different office within the Dept. of Justice/Corrections), after the WHOLE sentence, including any post-release supervision has been successfully completed. One of the requirements is being a long-term contributing member of society. That's where what you said comes into play; it's damn hard for a felon to find even menial employment. At least they're not a gangster or a kiddie diddler in their (most likely) dreamlife.

Wish i had that childhood, i dream of my mother being dead and father going to prison every day. Some people have all the luck. The fact her brother eas killed inna car accident is just a bonus. To be clear her childhood isnt an excuse at all, not even remotely. I make this joke because the judge brought it up. Just dont say anything. Parent divorce when I was young, alcoholic mother, and father had another family. Very statistic said I would end up like her and between 16-18 things def seemed that way but I turned it around quickly and consistently. College - finance degree Own my own financial service business. As well as a Corp accountant Also in best shape of my life. Life’s crazy.
