Funny how he writes himself as the cool horse guy and his ranch into the show.

I have a lot of respect for people like Taylor Sheridan who take risks that in turn benefit thousands of others. He went from being broke to making millions. If you’ve ever been hungry, you’ll never be full.

My dad was well acquainted with the ranch since the 60s. The absolute best of the best. People have no idea what it's like at the 6666

The Four Sixes is on the rolling plains, not Texas Panhandle. That's the area between DFW and Lubbock. Lots of flat arid land

Why is it named 6666 ranch. Here I’ll explain it to you the owner back in the 1800’s was playing cards and the owner of the ranch bet his ranch on a game of cards. The old owner lost to 4 6666’s witch that is why and how it is named the 4 6666’s ranch.

Doesn’t compare to the King Ranch. 825,000 acres. I worked for the King Ranch farming division for 5 years.

I’m sorry but I wouldn’t need a ranch that big. He’s living beyond his means. Love his shows. Original Yellowstone is the best and my favorite. Love Kevin Costner.

But he isn’t though. He purchased it through an investment group which helps with risk sharing but it’s also a working, functional ranch. This isn’t Evander Holyfield buying some dumb mega-mansion with scores of butlers and maids to be paid from his personal shrinking wealth. This is a powerhouse of income and it also recently began a lucrative oil drilling segment. Sheridan is a man on fire. He was a c-list nobody 10 years ago, and now he has channeled his inner Cormac McCarthy and Warren Buffet into continuous hit shows, movies and now intelligent investments. I’d think of this ranch purchase more along the lines of George Lucas buying and developing property into the Lucas Ranch and Skywalker Sound. It’s a ranch that can now be used for ranching and oil,but also now a firm foundation in real western studio filmmaking on location. He can make his own films and TV right on the ranch, and he can charge other studios and filmmakers to film on his property as well. He will likely wind up with a massive empire not all that dissimilar to a western version of Lucasfilm that he can sell when he gets old and tired of it all for billions of dollars. No, he isn’t living beyond his means. He is making himself into a billionaire and we are watching it happen at breakneck speed. I may not like all his works but I do give him all due credit for using his mental resources to create an empire. To parlay his newfound fame and status into a long-lasting foundation of creativity and wealth.
