Taylor wrote and directed the All Too Well short film that’s 15 minutes long. And yes, it’s a true story (the song, not necessarily the film). She writes to make sense of her feelings. This song was released on Red, originally 5 minutes long. She made the mistake of telling someone there was 10 minute version and the Swifties wouldn’t leave her alone about it, so the 10 minute version came out on the Red re-record. 😂 Also, #teammuse and I’m from Oregon.

Ahhh!!!!!! Such a classic! This song (the original short version) got me through so many middle school heartbreaks haha. The 10 minute version DESTROYED me. It’s off the Taylor’s Version (re-recorded) “Red” album. This was a vault (bonus) track. Haven’t finished the video yet I’ll be back with more comments haha

This song is about Jake Gyllenhall, they dated when she was 20 and he was about 30, hence the line “you said if we were the same age maybe it would’ve been fine”. He also didn’t show up to her 21st birthday - the line “it’s supposed to be fun, turning 21” (also a reference to another song on red about him missing her bday. Most of the red album is about Jake). It was ALSO right after she dated John Mayer at 19 (he was 32) and he was calling her childish, too. The irony of it all, is that Jake gyllenhall has continued to date VERY young women (under 25) even to this day, and he’s like 40 now. That’s why she says “I was never good at telling jokes but the punchline goes: I’ll get older but your lovers stay my age”. But they’re on civil terms now, she doesn’t encourage any hate towards him regarding the actions in this song 😂 The film in the back is the music video - a short film written and directed by Taylor. It’s 100% worth the watch! But I’m glad you reacted to this video first cause it kinda distracts from the song lol And don’t apologize for pausing lol. We’re watching for commentary, we’ve all seen the video haha

It's from Red TV. What I love about this song, no matter how many times I hear it, it never feels like 10 minutes. Never. Not only does she sing full ten minutes straight, but there are literally no repeat lines in the entire song except the words All Too Well. Each full line is different from all the rest.

You've likely heard Blank Space on the radio and the video is fantastic but I love the Grammy Museum performance. I like how she describes why she wrote it. She also does a piano version of Out of the Woods there. Taylor is interesting on the albums as they are best understand the lyrics but she really shines live, on her videos and her piano & guitar acoustic live versions.

All To Well is off Red. It was never a single, never had a music video. The fans loved it. She made a mistake of saying it was originally 10 minutes long, she had to cut it down in the original. Swiftly bugged her for years asking for the 10 minute version. During her tea records she gave us this, plus the short film playing in the background. Sister song to this would be The Moment I Knew.
