Not sure if you caught it in your first (maybe only) watch, but the titles, 'An Upstate Escape', '1st Crack in the Glass', 'The Breaking Point', 'Reeling', 'Remembering', '13 Years Gone'... they were the different chapters in the book she wrote titled 'All Too Well'. And at the end, as she stood at the podium, if you read her lips, she says, "I walked through the door with you, the air was cold"

I’ve never been a fan of Taylor except from the cursory listen on radio play. But this… I’ve had it on loop several times. It’s masterfully done. He knew he didn’t hold her hand. (The pat, it was meant to probably reassure her and not show his peers their closeness) He was deflecting for sure.

She's actually breaking the 4th wall sometime 2-3 years in **the future.** She even suggested she might release a book in 3 years on one of the late night shows (either Fallon or Myers). Taylor's almost 32. This happened when she was 20-21. Therefore 11 years ago. 13 years gone is still in the future.

the whole 21st birthday thing with him not being there explains why the song 22 is after All Too Well in the album and also idk if you caught if but when she is at the dinner party with him and his friends all they had was red wine and its a well known fact that she does not like red wine she prefers white wine and also it was most likely before her 21st birthday so she was not legally able to drink so that just to shows that he didnt care how old she was or what she did or didnt like
@halamomslife69473 жыл бұрын
Would you have reacted differently if it weren't Mad Max? What broke my heart are the lines, "you kept me like a secret but i kept you like an oath", "he watched me watch the front door all night willing you to come, he said it was supposed to fun turning 21" and "after plaid shirt days & nights when you made me your own, now you mail back my things & i walk home alone".
@Shawnthedon3 жыл бұрын
Agreed, those lines were brutal and hit hard 😭 That’s a good question. I think that I would have still been very moved regardless of who the actress was (and assuming their performance was equal). But the familiarity of having Mad Max as the actress made me feel the music video a little deeper. So, to answer your question, it would have been very similar how I felt the video, but I felt it at another level because I (we) have seen her grow up from her appearances in Stranger Things.

The music is a bit different. I think she did it intentionally to portray the entire story. The original version was just the heartbreak but this shows the entire plot. She also needed to make it different from the original to incentivize fans and non-fans to listen to it. She’s gonna submit this song for record and song of the year and the musicality of the original was submitted so she needed to make it a certain percentage different to quality if I understand the rules correctly. Great reaction and I’m crying again 😭
