I am a 57 year old dad and grandpa who raised a Swiftie who is now 31 and a grand daughter who is now a Swiftie at 6 so I have been taking my daughter to concerts because she love it. Now I have had the joy of taking them both to the ERA's tour. As a man I am not afraid to say that Taylor is a Generational Talent that will be talked about years after she is done. Also living in Kansas City I get to see her romance with our hometown guy Travis Kelce. Great job and keep reacting because she has hits for everybody. Midnight Rain, End Game, Bad Blood for the beat and movement and All to Well and LOML if you just want to listen to what a master writer she is!!!

Taylor is SO MUCH MORE than her radio hits! This woman is a lyrical genius. She knows how to paint a picture with her words and it brings out so much emotion in yourself because you can imagine a time that you felt this way. It’s nostalgic. Also Aaron Dessner (Piano) and Jack Antonoff (Guitar) are Taylors two main producers on her last 7 albums.

Justin Vernon/Bon Iver is Indie Folk music. He is known for his wide range. You also have a great voice! Here for all the Taylor reactions ❤ keep it up Guy on the piano is Aaron Dessner- one of Taylor's favorite collaborators, producers, and also in his own band, The National :) May I suggest Taylor and Mary J Blige - Doubt - from the 1989 tour :)

There’s an interview out there where Kobe Bryant was explaining why he was a fan of Taylor. Greatness recognizes greatness and always looking out for how others process and make themselves better. “You can’t have that level of consistent success and not be a killer” - Kobe

The album this was on is Folklore, and she won the Grammy for Album of the Year for it. She recorded it at the beginning of the pandemic in her house, and it's a wildly different genre from her normal pop music, dipping her toe into a folk music vibe.
@NYandAZ5 ай бұрын
Bon Iver has a HUGE vocal range. He’s country, alternative and a few other genres. It’s naturally beautiful. Taylor was so excited to have him on this song because she had been such a huge fan of his. She was too shy to ask him in case he said no. She asked Jack Antonoff, (the man on the piano, his band is “The National”) her co-producer on this album, a friend of Bon Iver (real name: Justin Vernon) to be on the album. She was thrilled! Jack Antonoff (lead singer from “The Bleachers”) is also on this album. Jack and Aaron are both very influential on Taylor and vice versa. The three really do create absolutely beautiful music together. They push each other to their creative goals. This is my absolute favorite song on Folklore. Welcome to the Taylor Swit rabbit hole. Folklore was made in 2020, so Bon Iver has a mask due to the camera crew in his studio. Everything was closed, so Taylor made a studio in her home. Everyone did their parts separately, then coming together when it was ok to do, and performed this album, song by song, for the first time together. She was crawling the walls after 2 days into the pandemic because she’s used to working every day. She put out 2 albums during early Covid. Now you see why she has so many die hard fans. She’s a talented, funny, intelligent, versatile, goofy, happy person who truly goes to extreme lengths to make her fans happy. Her Era’s concerts are 3.5 hours long and there’s no intermissions. She gives herself a few minutes to change costumes in between Era’s. Ps. You have a beautiful voice!! You might enjoy “End Game ft Ed Sheeran and Future”. Ed and Taylor have been best friends for 2 decades. They’re so funny together. Their friendship is real and during End Game, it shows. Ed has a song “You need me, I don’t need you” from 2011?? that is soo good. There’s a fantastic video about 11 minutes long (in the thumbnail he’s in the sound booth). His roots were rap. That song is so hard! His breath control is amazing. He gets some digs in there about what other artists do that he doesn’t. Both Ed and Taylor have petty songs and they’re fan favorites for sure! “thanK you, aIMee” (notice the only 3 capitalized letters…KIM) by Taylor is about the crap that Kanye & Kim have put her through since 2009 when he took her 1st Grammy out of her young 19 year old hands. Taylor compares her to a HS bully. Taylor has done a lot for the music and streaming industry. Removing her entire catalog from streaming platforms until artists received what they should be receiving. She wasn’t playing and she had the following to do it. They caved. That’s real power in the industry to get streaming platforms WANT YOUR MUSIC because they lost money during that time. She’s a smart business woman who treats the people who help her extremely well. Each of her 50 truck drivers got $100k bonuses for Christmas with a hand written letter from Taylor, hand delivered by Taylor’s father, Scott Swift. Her dancers, singers, stage hands.. every single person who is on her payroll had a nice bonus for Christmas and this year will be no different. Especially because of the HUGE time commitment for Eras world tour from 3/2023-12/2024. She spoils them all often. They know they are appreciated. Look what she helped Owenn achieve. He is one of her most favorite backup dancers. She helped him get signed at her management company and he opened for some of her concerts. They’re a big happy family. Some have been with Taylor since the beginning of her career. You wouldn’t still be there if you were miserable. They look like they’re just having the best time on stage and it really shows. Sorry for the long message. Thought I’d help you with some background information. 🥰🫶🏼🤍

It’s called endgame from her reputation album (2017). She also has another song with Bon Iver. It’s called evermore, from her 2020 evermore album. It’s a special song. It’s helped me on dark days. The guy on the piano is Aaron Dessner, one of Taylor’s longtime producers and co-writers. He is also a member of the band The National. And we are also grateful that you’ve opened your mind to Taylor.

Glad you’re enjoying Swift! A few other performances I’d recommend are I Did Something Bad (Reputation Tour), Out of the Woods (1989 Tour) and Wildest Dreams (Grammy Museum performance). For great songwriting, All Too Well is a T. Swift “classic”. A lot of people will recommend the short film, but I highly recommend you start with the lyric video (10 minute version) and then, if you like it, you could do the short film. The reason I suggest the lyric video first is that the short film is really good but, if you haven’t heard the song, it kind-of distracts from the lyrics- which you really need to be able to focus on during your first listen. Ideally, I’d tell you to watch the Grammys performance of the original version of the song (the one NOT labeled rehearsal) first. It’s a raw, emotional performance of the song as it was originally released about 10 years ago. Problem is, I know you’re doing “reactions” and I’ve heard the Grammys are really strict with copyrighting. Thanks for the reaction! 😊

Many years ago I had a student who insisted he only liked rap music. I told him doubted it. It might be his preferred style but there was probably a lot of music he would like if heard it. Part of the curriculum was to write opinion papers so I brought in all kinds of music I doubted my students had heard and got there opinions on it. They could like it or hate it or fall anywhere in between but they then needed to support their opinion. He learned he liked the 1812 Overture and the Anvil chorus, but not Stormy Weatherby Etta James.

Love the comments and observations you have made on all your Taylor Swift reactions so far! Your open-minded approach is wonderful and I appreciate it so much. One suggestion I have for you, if you’re open to it (😊): As you dive in and do more reactions to Taylor’s music, you will win over Swifties if you pay attention to and comment on her lyrics and the stories she tells through her music. She is a fantastic performer, as you have pointed out, but her storytelling and lyricism are her superpowers, and a huge part of what makes her music so impactful and even life-changing for so many of her fans. Just something to consider - your reactions are great regardless! 💯

The Long Pond Sessions really do an amazing job of showcasing Taylor’s vocals. Taylor has incredible range, both with the highs and lows. Also, I love hearing you talk about how you’ve opened up to so many different genres/artists of music. I grew up listening mainly to country and the older I’ve gotten, the more I realize how much amazing music I lost out on (especially throughout high school) and it makes me wanna slap myself 😂 I’m definitely trying my best to make up for it, though. I’ve gotten into rap, R&B, pop, metal, soul… and my life is so much fuller because of it. Whenever people tell me that they don’t like certain artists or genres of music, I tell them how much they’re missing out on. When you have an appreciation for different kinds of music, you have a greater appreciation for music as a whole. Music is the soundtrack to our lives and our lives are constantly ebbing and flowing, so I genuinely feel that different kinds of music resonate with us at certain times, and that’s why we should keep our minds open. Taylor, on the other hand… she pretty much offers up everything throughout her discography. If you don’t like one song, or even an entire album… that’s okay. She’s got something for everyone.

Bon Iver is the project/ traveling band for a guy named Justin Vernon. (Alt Rock band). He's friends with Aaron Dessner (who produced a lot of the folklore album). The band name is a joke: he took it from French _bon_ _hiver_ which is "good winter." like Bon Voyage (have a nice trip, good sailing) or Bon Jour/ Bon Soir (Good Day, Good Evening or Hello). Winters in Wisconsin are brutal, and he's not too far from Canada. so Bon Iver is bohn Ee Vair Justin is being filmed in his own studio, in Eau Claire, WI; Taylor, Jack, and Aaron are in Aaron's studio in the upper Hudson Valley a few miles southeast of Albany on a map. if you want to blow your mind, she wrote her first single when she was 15 (Tim McGraw); video is like a Hallmark film. She wrote Our Song for her HS talent show (she ended up home schooled, because of touring). 5 of her 11 songs on her debut were put out as singles; singles generally got music videos (because, face it, cameras love the girl).

Ignore them! True Swifties want Honest reactions! All we ask for is a chance. You don't have to like a song or something about the video! She writes or co-writes every song(and not with 10 other co-writers). It is usually 1-2. She produces or co-produces most of her music. She directs lots of her videos. Just a little info on her craft. To see different sides of Taylor watch False God from SNL We are never ever getting back together from her 1989 Tour Doubt by Mary J. Blige. If you like duets with Taylor, check out ‘FLORIDA’ with Florence and the Machine. Florence’s voice is so strong that most of us Swifties agree she was the stronger of the two voices on that song. Not in a bad way for Taylor, but Florence has such a powerful voice, similar to Bon Iver. The song didn’t vibe for the two like this song did, and I think that was by design. Florence and the Machine is very underrated, and the song caused many people to admit her voice is amazing and check her out, thankfully. She has so many songs that Taylor fans would enjoy

All too well the movie. It’s a 10 minute song about her relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal. She was 20 and he was in his late 20s. She’s such a lyricist. You should really look at her new album tortured poets department

Here for the Taylor reactions but for Bon Iver he had a big hit years back called 'Skinny Love' I'd check that one out to start with him more

You are a tenor and the guy in the video is a bass or baritone. ❤ lovely voice you have! I was a music director so I’m not just making up stuff.

I was the same as you as far as Taylor is concerned. I was not feeling her early songs that played on mainstream radio (like Shake It Off😖). It was only after watching reaction channels and I was exposed to her other songs that I became a fan. My now favorite TS songs are those that I've never heard on the radio.
