Taylor alludes to abusive parents in the song Seven when she says “I’ve been meaning to tell you, I think your house is haunted, your dad is always mad and that must be why. And I think you should come live with me and we can be pirates, then you won’t have to cry or hide in the closet”. But the song is told from a child’s perspective or the child version of herself so it’s told through the innocence of childhood

Ikr I mean Taylor IS the music industry she’s had to deal with a sexual assault case where there was clear proof and no one believed her, people taking her music like Scooter Braun when he kept her albums and then sold them, and she has been in this industry since she was 16 and they haven’t thrown her out yet and she still in the industry writing her own songs and coming up with beautiful albums. Imagine not liking her
@soundsoffiction24564 жыл бұрын
@@sofitrofimofi Correct! She is the WORST part of the music industry. Toxic entitled, arrogant fans, who constantly overrate her and attack people who don't share their opinion. Generic, overrated, manufactured pop music about how she's always the victim and men are the problem, which is sexist. And big deal? She's been in the industry since she was a child, so has other music artists, doesn't make them GOOD. And she hasn't been "Thrown out" because she has a load of entitled, devoted fans who listen to the shit she gives them and calls it good. I KNOW what good music is, whether I like it personally or not. Its MY JOB! Lover was a good album, Foklore is the most overrated album of this year. Betty is from a perspective of James who's also mentioned on August and Cardigan. These three songs are about a relationship between James and Betty, but James had a illicit affair in August. Cardigan is from Betty's perspective and August is from the other woman's perspective. These three complement each other.

epiphany is about her grandfather who fought in the war. She talking about the hardships and the sense of looking for some peace in the chaos. It can also be related to this pandemic "hold your hand through the plastic now". She's talking about watching your closed ones dying. It's all connected to the war and this pandemic. And the song ends with a heartbeat monitor sound

Honestly I barely survived exile. No one who listened to this album survived exile. That's just a fact
