Happiness has plenty of reference to The Great Gatsby. Dorothea goes along with Tis the damn season.

I loved your reaction, and Taylor's skills as a singer/songwriter are amazing on this album. And "dorothea" is a companion track to "'tis the damn season" -- in "dorothea" we hear from the Dorothea's lover, and in "'tis the damn season" we hear from Dorothea herself, and between them they tell the story of their romance. There's theories that these two tracks also link to either/both of "champagne problems" and/or "gold rush". I love how Taylor tells a story from more than one angle -- so vivid! Thanks for the reactions and for keeping me smiling. :)

Love your reaction to these. No Body No Crime is so fun, your debate about who killed who was funny 😄 HAIM is a 3-sister rock/pop band, Este, Danielle, & Alana Haim are their names (you should check them out!) I think it’s so beautifully ironic that Happiness is so sad. It makes me cry. The lyrics about being bloody & bruised could be taken literally but I think they’re meant to be metaphorical. Dorothea is my least favorite of these three but the lyric video is mesmerizing!

The credits at the end say Este and Danielle provided back up vocals. The line (Danielle: She was with me, Dude.) is actually sung by Este.

I love your reactions to Taylor, I really like how it makes you think. No need to think you have to 'shut up', we love your rants lol. You were actually one of the few people that understood what was happening in "no body, no crime"

Great reaction. I'm happy that your Evermore journey continues. :) I hope you'll do the two bonus tracks as well? They are just as deep as the rest of the album. I'm sure you'll like them too. She always was a great storyteller but Folklore and Evermore are on another level. Maybe because she started to write about fictional characters too and has more freedom to do what she wants. I'm happy for her.

Taylor did not mean she wished ill for whoever took her place in his life and his arms. When she said “I hope she’ll be a beautiful fool who takes my spot next to you,” she was referencing the Great Gatsby. There is a harshness and a cruelty in the world that might not always be revealed to every person, and so she hopes that he finds that kind of happiness with a person who may be blissfully ignorant to such things, that he may find the love he wished to have with her, with someone else in her stead, because she couldn’t pursue the life he wished to have with her.

In the first verse, the "no body no crime" is figuratively speaking. She doesn't have any actual proof of infidelity. Later, it becomes literal. Entertaining reaction!

loved your dancing with the devil reaction, I wanted to reach out to you about a suggestion for a reaction, but couldn’t find you on social media. I didn’t go comment it on the Demi reaction out of respect so I thought I’d comment on this one . I’t would be awesome if you would react to Daudrie by Ekoh ( echo) powerful song , video and message that I think should be talked about more. If you do it I suggest reading the description before. I’m am going to warn it is a heavy song and video but deserves more recognition.

No body no crime is about este suspecting her husband of infidelity. She went missing and husband went on with his life and had his mistress moved in with him. At the end, taylor may have killed him (boat license, can clean houses to cover up a scene), este’s sister swore she was with taylor so it couldn’t be her who did it 🤔😉 and his mistress took out a big life insurance. The mistress thinks taylor did it. But the police think the mistress did it cause life insurance motive. But you have to remember.. NO BODY, NO CRIME 😉

Este was married. Her husband. You literally missed the whole point of the entire song until the VERY ENDING. That was so frustrating to watch you thinking you were right while you didn’t understand any of it. 🙈🙈🙈🙈 She keeps saying in the chorus “I think he did it but I just can’t prove it” with minute changes in the words. The husband killed Este. *Taylor killed the husband because he killed Este. You got Happiness completely wrong, too. This is just painful. Happiness was written for a very good friend of hers in real life that was going through a divorce. There was no physical abuse. Divorce hurts. Especially after 7 happy years but then he met someone new. Taylor wrote this to help her friend heal during this difficult time. So beautiful and a great friend.
