I would have loved a joke like “Taylor’s already taken over the music industry, now she’s coming for the movie industry - Nolan watch out” or something acknowledging how wild it is for Taylor Alison Swift to be nominated for a *Golden Globe* and not just for a song. Not the same old joke about “popular girl has boyfriend”.

When the host made a joke about her which was a very clean joke she had a horrible grin on her face and did not even laugh a bit for the occasion... I found that to be very revealing of who she is... If you can't laugh at a very light hearted joke then you must be a very very stuck up person in real life... Thats the whole point of the golden globe monologues is to take a small poke at the audience and her grin and sipping of that $200,000 martini just showed how disconnected she is from everyday Americans and every people.

​@@thompson7271that is not the point of the Golden Globes , it started when they had Ricki Gervais doing that kind of humour for rhe first time but it wasn't like that before . The GG had a history of making fun of Taylor, if you had been in the industry for 15 years and you had people humiliating you and making jokes about your personal life over and over you would not laugh. Plus the joke was lame because the NFL coverage has already been made fun in the SNL and other media , it is overdone and the host delivery was not funny. If this was the first time than an award ceremony host had made a joke about her I would understand your criticism , but considering how many times this has been done I admired her for not faking a smile and simply sip her drink and move on.

the tour doesn't pick up again until February 7th so Taylor will be at the grammys. She's in Tokyo until the 10th. The super bowl is the 11th. With the huge time difference she can go to the super bowl if the chiefs are in it! The next city she's in is Melbourne which starts on the 16th. Also the super bowl the last couple years has been that weekend in February. last year it was on the 12th.

I think the Gaylors want Taylor to be one of them so badly that they are desperate to make it so. But what these Gaylors are suggesting in their effort to force her to come out with their gotcha game is that Taylor is a liar, user and a manipulator refusing to admit that she is gay and living a double life all for the sake of stardom and the all mighty dollar. Taylor carefully needs to respond to this opinion piece and put these "gay" rumors to rest. Granted many of these die hard Gaylors will never believe it But she still has to confront this issue sooner rather than later. I also think that since Taylor has reach the top tier of stardom and influence, she is going to be a huge target for more slander and more efforts to bring her down a peg or two. Everything she does is going to be scrutinized. Many will want to bring her down even if they have to lie and spread a false narrative to do it. I hope that Taylor and Travis make it as partners because of all the people she has been with he seems like he could give a flying leap about any of this. He seems strong and steady and ready to take on the Taylor haters and naysayers. He can be her warrior against all the crap thrown her way. I think his only drawback is he may defend her too aggressively. And that could feed the fire causing even bigger problems or hurt his own career, future and reputation.

The only way that level of gossip/reaction makes sense is if Kylie refused on behalf of Timothee. Otherwise, there's no story. It's shocking BECAUSE Selena has a working history with him and it SHOULDN'T be a big deal. And the idea of thinking any of the Kardashian/Jenner clan is above drama like that is wild to me. She might not be LOOKING to start shit with Selena/Taylor, but that doesn't mean she'll extend an olive branch and welcome them. If for nothing else, out of a sense of loyalty to her family. I absolutely see all of it going down exactly like that.

The fact that the preceding 10 minutes of monologue were so dull is I think a huge part that people who are team 'why can't she just smile' miss. It's not like she was rolling with laughs and then it got to her and she was deadpan. The whole monologue was just boring and the punchlines weren't landing. No one was laughing. And then she just .... continued to not laugh. It was a continuation of what she was doing... or not doing I guess in this case. He could have said something like "Number one rule of standup in a room like this is to punch up. But I realized that would mean I had to tell a joke about Taylor Swift, and I don't feel like being beheaded today. So ma'am you look lovely. Very serpent-esque. Moving on (in soto voce: "don't kill me")." Like a joke about how if you make a joke about her then you get murdered would have been funny tbh. Funnier than what he said.

If she'd randomly laughed at that one, you'd have been first in line to pile on with "she's so fake. that joke wasn't even funny but she's trying to pretend it was". It wasn't about whether it was "Clean' or not. It was just a dead room and a lame joke. Jo Koy never had them rolling to begin with but what momentum he did have was lost as soon as he brought out that 'Barbie is about a plastic doll with big boobies" line ... which was before the NFL joke. That Barbie joke sucked the air out of the room. I'm a millennial. I am 'the older generation' at this point. I'm middle aged. She doesn't need boomers who are literally in nursing homes to like her. And Gen Z is the last generation on the planet who wants to be told to 'smile' more to throw dudes who aren't hacking it a bone.

The Taylor/nfl joke was making fun of how the nfl constantly shows Taylor on screen because they are desperate for ratings, whereas at the golden globes there are lots of other celebrities so they don’t need to do that. Jo Koy sells out arenas. He was unfunny because he took the gig on short-notice which forced him to use the writers for most of the jokes. It's ultimately his fault for taking this gig on short notice, which is why he's taking the L. On a side note, awards shows are lame
