At the end of Job he has everything he had prior restored and then some. There's also a part at the end before everything is restored where God tears him a new one for getting a tad pissy about his ordeal. You would think he'd rebuke Satan, but nope he rebukes Job his most faithful servant. Taylor also left out the part where everyone Job knew came by to tell him how everything that was happening to him was his fault.

@@lindboknifeandtool that’s because of the power of free will, given to us by god. he doesn’t need to kill the satin. the mortal realm is nothing but a test. I don’t even personally believe everything the Bible preaches. what’s truly right and wrong you will feel in your soul, regardless of religion. The Bible was written by men, there’s a lot of knowledge there, but an equal amount of “propaganda” All you have to do is be the best person you can, simply because it is right. the story of job is about following what you know is right, regardless of setbacks. It’s not a negative thing that job was used as a “bet” because the mortal plain doesn’t matter at all. all of the pain and suffering you’ve received in your life, will melt away in an instant. once you cross to the other side, you’ll laugh what what you thought mattered here.

@@lindboknifeandtool you don’t get the message of the story. He asked for the sacrifice of the son, which he should do because it’s for asking. But god stops him. The message is that GOD is going to provide his eternal son through Christ Jesus as a suffering servant sacrifice (Isaiah 53) also known as the lamb of god. God so loved the world that he came down as flesh and took on suffering, beating, condemnation, and died a terrible death on the cross all for our sins which we could never atone for on our own. Then he destroyed death by raising from the dead and ascending to heaven 3 days later 🙏

The Satan character isn’t the same being as what we think of as the devil. We get the word “Satan” from the Hebrew word meaning “opposer” or “adversary”, and it isn’t a proper name. It’s essentially a job title for a celestial being.

The lesson of Job (once you GET TO CHAPTER 38+ TAYLOR instead of NOT FINISHING JOB) is that God, who made the world and all of its goodness, also oddly allows evil to exist within it, and that only by pushing headlong through it while trusting God can you make it out the other side with tremendous reward. It is the purpose of all scripture. Genesis 50:20 - As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.
@ibraiynlopez35106 ай бұрын
I agreed! Job taught us that the only way to get through this world into the promised land is to put all faith in God. The way i always saw the book of Job was kind of like a bet between God and the devil. The devil asserting that man only served God because God blessed them, and that if those blessings were removed they would renounce god that instant. As we know from the scriptures Job did not disappoint and was therefore rewarded again in double. This basically made the devil look stupid lol. Something else i feel like we can take away from this is that when you go through tribulations, its not God whos testing you, its satan. So the question now is when facing these trials, who is it that you want to proove right? Edit: horrendous misspellings were corrected

@@ibraiynlopez3510I think it’s clear the one moral you should really pull from job is that god believe in you, even when the devils testing you he still knows who’s faith is strong.

Totally didn’t mention that Job was rewarded for his faith with new wives, children and twice as much fortune as he had and lived a long life. The moral of the story is unwavering faith will be rewarded.

This one was kinda weak Taylor. You only really touched the beginning of the story. The bulk of Job is poetry, where Job discusses his lament and the nature of God, with his friends and God does come down to explain to Job and redeems him.

Yeah morals are hard to find. If you understand Christianity enough you know that sometimes God will lift his hand and let tragedy befall us so he knows if we really love him. It’s called a trial basically. And the devil will attack us in this time because God sits back. So we need to just focus on loving him as much as possible because if we lose that then we wouldn’t have just lost everything physically, but spiritually and mentally. And people always say “well why would a loving God allow so much terror to unfold?”. My answer is that I don’t know. He knows what has happened, is happening, and will happen. He doesn’t point a gun at our backs and tell us to do evil. We do it ourselves. The road to heaven is straight and narrow and the road to hell is wide. No matter what happens, everything that happens is meant to glorify him. That’s why we were created in the first place. It’s better to live in a world where we have purpose because we’re made in God’s image than in a world where we’re just matter and energy born from eternal chaos.
