When you talked about diversity, you said that went to schools that you were the minority I don’t think it’d be THAT BAD, but for me that’s always been going to predominately black schools almost my whole life, it concerns me. It’s not just a northeastern problem it’s an every college in America problem, there’s just not a decent black population in any school. I’m worried about the culture shock ☹️
@taylorareed4 жыл бұрын
girl BYE! you’re completely right and i can’t say there won’t be a culture shock anywhere you go (unless its an HBCU) but there are a lot of black people who will experience/have experienced the same feelings as you and connecting with them definitely helps
@abyss6484 Жыл бұрын
I'm worried about culture shock bc my school experience has had like a relatively v high Asian population lol

thank you so much for this! I also have a 31 ACT and a 3.6 gpa, so this has made me feel a lot better because I've been pretty nervous about getting into NEU. I have 9 extracurriculars, of course some are stronger than others, like business programs and charity hours compared to hobbies like guitar and having 2 jobs. My essay is about how Frank Ocean's album Blonde helped me express myself through music when overcoming hard times, and how that made me realize I want to become a music therapist. I only didn't do ED because of the price of NEU, but it is my top choice!! I also feel a little better about getting in simply because NEU really likes my high school, they have around a 38% acceptance rate for it. If I get in and end up attending, I hope to see you around!!

@BreannaMcClarey4 жыл бұрын
both have a co-op program, although NU's has been established for over 100 years so it's way more established and you'll get more connections. NU has more prestige and is more difficult to get into

Hi! Im considering attending Northeastern this fall for a health sciences and psychology major while on the pre-med track, but I'm really conflicted between picking an in state school or NEU because of the pre med track... I'm really worried that the NEU pre med won't be bearable in comparison to an in state school, do you have any advice or overall opinion on northeastern's pre med track and how to survive it?
@taylorareed3 жыл бұрын
Hi! So honestly there is no added intensity of the pre-med track if you are already in STEM courses since they line up with your major mostly. The only added stress at NEU is trying to schedule applying to med school/MCAT studying with your coop schedule. NEU in general is kinda hard but every college is really. So surviving just takes time management, planning, and knowing when to take a break loll :)

How much would you say tuition is if you decide to commute starting the first year?
@taylorareed4 жыл бұрын
Ashley Lemus Sorry I’m really not sure but if you look up how much room/board is, then subtract it from that total you could estimate it?
@ashuri81844 жыл бұрын
taylorareed okay thank you!!
@BreannaMcClarey4 жыл бұрын
i believe room and board is around $16,000 every year! so you'd just be paying for tuition which is around $53,000
