One of the biggest risks here is falling out of love with your job that pays the bills and becoming enamored with the side-hustle that doesn't. It takes tremendous will and dedication to stick to the job while building the side-hustle (which can take years). Thank you for another great video.

I used to work as a consultant in the Big 4 for many years and started a side project (a card game for consultants) I was really excited about. I tinkered with it on and off for several months but once I had a pretty realistic prototype of my game in my hands, I knew I wanted to take it more seriously as a business so I left the Big 4 and got an actual 9-5 job. It wasn't my only reason to leave Big 4, but it was one of the big ones! I love having more time and mental space back to work on my game each day!

It's so refreshing to hear someone clarify that their W-2 job is not a "9-5"!! When talking about passion projects and side hustles, too many folks talk about navigating a "9-5" job... the only time it's 9-5 is if you're working from 9 AM to 5 AM, which is not unheard of if you're working in finance, consulting or big law, which is why I prefer the term "W2" job instead of "9-5"

Totally agree on the tip about finding a side hustle that ultimately energizes your "full time" role. I feel the same way about my YT channel, and find that as I engage and see growth with my channel, I feel even more inspired at work to be more productive so I can then make more time for creating!

What a lot of aspiring entrepreneurs also have to realize is that sacrifices do have to be made. Yes, sometimes you will work a saturday night or a sunday afternoon when your friends are out and about. Thats is part of working for yourself. Does it have to be very weekend? No. What is important like you mentioned is that you take the time off when you feel like you physically or mentally need it. It’s imo the only way to have this be long term possible

I'm a pro trader who used to try to balance a corporate job with my trading. When I finally quit my corporate gig, my trading took off and I made more progress in one year than the past ten. I attribute it to the lack of mental distractions and increase of focus. I don't think people realize how much better you can get at something when your commitment is 100%. The number of creative epiphanies I had went up exponentially once I went all in on one project. I think a lot of it is subconscious. For example, when you are lying in bed at night, your brain has a single priority and is not spread across multiple tasks. If you wake up with a great idea, you can pursue it immediately and with full energy - instead of having to "go to the office" and interupt your creative flow

You speak so naturally that I would never guess that you use a script. Do you mean an outline of key points? Would you do a "BEHIND THE SCENES" VIDEO of what a script looks like, your writing process, and if you read the script verbatim from some sort or teleprompter?

i went all out with music, i dont have much money but i spend everyday playing with people and im happier than ive ever been, much more so than when i worked at a warehouse lifting furniture, and its not like i was swiming in money then either lol, i dont know if it has a lot to do with the video, but yeah, when you love something you become obsessed enough about it to put in the reps even when you dont feel like doing much, an instrument is basically like that, you "train" so you learn but youre having a blast while at it

Thanks for sharing this. I can relate to this so closely as an engineering consultant. Consulting is not a 9to5 job so the general idea of doing KZbin on the side does not specifically apply to a consultant . Can you share how your peers and coworkers at the consulting firm were reacting to your increased involvement in KZbin and how you navigated those relationships prior to announcing that you were quitting? Also, how are your relationships with the consulting network at present, now that you are working KZbin full time? Hope my questions made sense.

Going back to the Management Consultant well. A title slide with all the key tips upfront would of tied this home and made it clear. Maybe flash each one as you transitioned into each section. As it is currently - it was fun but a bit all over the place as it's unclear with what the takeaway tips were.
