You'll find things like.... the pickup switch wired the wrong way round.... massive scratches on the fretboard/neck..... digs out of the body... loose output jacks.....If that doesn't bother you then go for it as they are great for the money. Also, prepare for a pickup swap as all of the instruments I have received might as well just have a microphone instead.

Would u recommend replacing the Floyd Rose with the 2000 model Floyd or the original Floyd to improve out of tuning issues?
@TaylorDanley3 күн бұрын
@@metal1mark73 I didn’t have any tuning issues. Even when I was abusing the whammy. I think that’s a misconception of Floyd rose specials. The biggest issue with the specials is the metal is much softer, and they won’t take nearly as much abuse as an original. That and the fact that I think most people don’t learn how to properly maintain them compounds the myth that specials are “bad”
@metal1mark733 күн бұрын
@TaylorDanley Floyd specials are cheap Chinese made, but 2000 are Korean, and Originals are German made and these 2 last a lot longer. I'm stuck on what to do wdyt? Or maybe just replaced the cheap parts on the floyd special?
@southernpanda333 күн бұрын
I had a Kramer Pacer Classic with a Floyd Rose special. I had zero issues with it. I even floated it so I could go up or down. And that was my FIRST Floyd Rose tremolo. If you take care of it, it’ll be fine.
@TaylorDanley2 күн бұрын
@@metal1mark73 IME it’s the metals they are made from, not the country of origin (1500 vs original for example are near identical IMO). The first thing to go on those specials that will give you problems are probably the little clamps that hold the string in place and the screws that adjust them. You can replace all the saddles, the block and the springs, but you will likely at some point have issues with the blade edge wearing and either have to file it or replace the whole base… so kinda up to you if you want to slowly replace it piece by piece over the years or just swap it out with an original or pro and call it a day. Again, this is just my experience and also from hammering on them a lot. If you take good care of a special I’m sure you can get a lot of years out of it before you have any issues
@metal1mark732 күн бұрын
@TaylorDanley I will replace it with the Floyd 2000 Korean made, less hassle and all at once, to save time.

I like it, but work has to be done to get it right. But this one you got is quite interesting .........

The premier music gear store here in the US is Sweetwater and they do not have a house brand of guitars. They do however feature guitars from more affordable brands like Sire, Squier, and Epiphone. These brands are a bit more pricey and do not offer the same quality components as what this does in this price range. What I do not understand is why companies such as Fender, Epiphone, Gibson, etc do not utilize stainless ball end frets? It isn't like it's significantly more expensive and have significantly better wear resistance. The funny thing is that many of these house brand guitars are built in the same facilities that produce the lower end models for Ibanez, Fender, PRS, Gibson, etc. still they come better equipped and at a more budget friendly price. I played a few of the new budget models from Ibanez and Jackson that come out of these same factories and I have to say that while the necks and bodies are well done, the finishing of the frets, the basic setup, and the rest of the hardware on them are garbage. It is sad when a noname brand gets better fretwork, bridges, and better sounding pickups for equal or lesser money.

Nah. All these big brands that make guitars under $500 make subpar guitars if you're buying new. Plus you're not getting SS frets on those. I'm a big ESP fan and own one of their Edwards guitars but I'd never buy a budget guitar from ESP, Ibanez, Jackson, etc. They all have major QC issues and even when there aren't any, the guitars are just ok at best. I'd rather support G4M/Harley Benton because they're giving you the most for the money. And as someone who played them they're amazing even for their price. You can also buy pickups that remedy a lot of the issues you're talking about or save money and just learn how to EQ. Pickups don't have massive sound differences.
