I think the reason they ship with cheap springs and not noiseless is that while they’re nice-to-haves, Jackson builds a LOT of guitars with Floyd roses, and adding $18 springs to all of them above $1200 probably adds up. It’s like when you want to upgrade the knobs on your kitchen cabinets, and they’re only $5/piece, but then realize you have 17 left/right cabinets, so you need 34 knobs. As the saying goes, many a mickle makes a muckle.
@TaylorDanley

I see what you're saying, but look at it this way. The retail of the guitar is $1600, those springs probably cost them less than $9 a set. I don't think you are cutting into the bottom line too deeply to put a ready to play guitar into your customers hands. And if it is, rework the budget on the guitar.

I noticed the same issue when it comes to most blackout models (except for the EMTY Blackouts). They're just so hot and they're high output. And when you plug it in to a high gain amp, it becomes even more louder. I just bought a good high end noise gage like the Decimator and it fixed the issue. But i don't remember it screeching high like yours did. There's got to be something wrong with how they set it up because my blackouts didnt screech that high immediately when I'm not playing.

Not saying you're wrong but I'll take his signature blackouts over EMGs everyday. Also the price is pretty fair considering it has high end specs like luminlay side dots, a 1500 series Floyd rose (I prefer that over the original), his blackouts (one of the best active pickups on the market), and the looks with the binding and ash top. Plus the Korean Jacksons are very good when it comes to craftsmanship. I'll argue and say it's priced right and better than the new American series Jackson Sl3s while also being 1000 dollars cheaper.

Dimarzio Super distortions, Super 3 is the fav of mine, but it wouldn't do that feedback stuff.. Also, I don't know if the 1500 is a good trem. I thought the guitars in that price range use the 1000 floyd made in Korea but with the same exact parts as the German made floyds.. Too bad it doesn't come with just a tune o matic bridge.. Great looking guitar thought and it's cool that it has a low action and such a good setup.. That means the frets are leveled good, and neck is straight, etc.. Thanks for the video man.. Tim

The Jackson Kelly is the best looking guitar Jackson has ever made…next to the King V of course

That's a weird way to spell the Jaxkson Rhoads. The king V is nice but something about the offset V on the rhoads just makes it look better than a king V.

idk if $1600 is worth it but everything else around that level is that price range these days. The Schecter KMs were like $999 at the time and at the time was already fully loaded imports, same with LTD sigs being $1200 or so. Now those same guitars are like $1600. Even USA guitars that were like $3200 or so for a PRS 10 Top and similar are approaching the $5k mark

I love the Kelly shape since the late 90‘s. These pickups should be thrown out because with all the noise they are so useless. I wish there could be an MJ soloist of the Kelly in high gloss black like the SL2, but with EMGs. That would be a perfect Jackson for me.

Something else that put me off paying full price for this guitar is that the black paint on the pickups rubs off after not long at all, leaving you with half black half chrome pickups.

Yeah the floyd spring thing is an easy fix and really puzzling why they decided that they couldn't add the noiseless springs to this guitar. At $1500+, penny pinching like this is absurd but even more inexcusable is them thinking that the Floyd 1500 is ok. It's not. I had a 1500 in my Schecter SVSS exotic and it wasn't that great and the Floyd 1000 my Charvel had was also junk. I put a Gotoh 1996T on both of those and it's so much better but at this price point, not having an OFR is a huge miss. It's not just Jackson though, ESP are putting the FR1000 on their $2000 E-II Japan guitars and high end Korean models too.

Companies always cut corners. Otherwise that guitar is awesome. I know it’s maybe not the biggest deal but I hate seeing expensive guitars not including OFR’s and having lower end trems. I haven’t used this bridge so maybe it’s really good.

Not sure how many guitars these days are shipped with noiseless springs. High end Ibanez and Music Man guitars costing almost $4K and don't come with noiseless springs.

Hello, I think Jackson has raised the prices a lot. The Brandon Ellis signature is 1250 euros and comes with a Floyd Rose 1000 and obviously with only one pickup, he thinks they could be sold a little cheaper. And they are not made in the USA or Japan....
@Dankdaddytyty
@Dankdaddytyty Жыл бұрын
You're also comparing Chinese made guitar like the Brandon Ellis signature to something that's made in Korea like Jeff Loomis. Then you have Jeff Loomis having 2 pickups (both being more expensive than his passive pickups), having luminlay side dots, and 1500 series being more expensive. Then his model has binding as well as it being sand blasted ash top which requires more work compared to Brandon's guitar. I blame fender for raising the prices on jackson, charvel, evh, etc.

With Indonesian guitars costing $700, it's not shocking for a Korean guitar to be $1600, especially with name-brand pickups and an artist endorsement. How was the build quality and fretwork? That's what takes labor, which is the most expensive part of building a guitar.

You're lucky to get an Indonesia guitars for that much. Jackson would sell their crackled Chinese rhoads for 1300. Most of the indo models I see would cost around 800-1200
