I just watched this video yesterday and started today with this condensed listing process, just with the description and item specifics and it has pretty much changed my life. I was so annoyed with the lengthy process of listing. I felt like I was spending sooo much time listing things after taking photos and everything. I have just started (January 1st) putting a serious effort into my reselling business and your videos have been incredibly helpful. So thank you.

That's awesome! Probably the best type of comments to read. I am glad I had a life changing impact on you. Ya I figured after all the headaches I'd find a away to eliminate those the best I could and share it with fellow resellers! Best of luck to you Alaska!

I’ve been using a very similar process. The only difference is I use my laptop to create each listing but do not add the photos at that time. I save each listing as a draft. Once I create all the listings for the session I then go to my iPhone and open the eBay app. I then add and edit the photos to each draft and as I complete the photos for each listing I then go live. I have found using the eBay app on my phone to be much more efficient way to complete a listing and add the photos.
@TaylorExchange4 ай бұрын
@@Antiqueexcavator Seems like a longer process and more to keep track of but if it works for you that is good!
@feltsmartin Жыл бұрын
I have two cents to add to your process. So if you use a slant canvas for placing your items on then you do not have to take the item down to do measurements, also if you put a sticker on the shirt itself during your process then you do not have to place it in a bag immediately nor do you have to take an additional photo of it after you place it in the bag. I have found that laying all of the shirts out and bagging them seperately does create a little extra work but I feel that it ensures that the clothing is much more uniform and neat when all you focus on is the bagging. Again just my two cents. Last thing, I configured my mobile phone to automatically save my pics to onedrive so I do not have to do any transfer.
@TaylorExchange Жыл бұрын
Hey Martin, thanks for the great comment. I like the slant canvas idea, but I think when I built this one I tried that angle and long jeans were the issue in capturing a photo comfortably. The sticker and separate bagging seems to be equal or less efficient. The photos to one drive is a tremendous idea! I need to consider trying this method. Do you ever lose photos that way?

My process is similar to yours except for a few things: My label has a place to add measurements (I made the label using Dymo) , I take a photo of the SKU on bag first, then take my photos, I use an old ironing board with a measuring tape taped on it for measurements that is almost waist high, I write the measurements on the label, weigh the item and add this to the label, I add any important info like flaws, style, etc, to the top of the SKU label, then I take a picture of the SKU label again. The reason I take two photos of the SKU is because I've accidently mixed clothes up before. I am red/green colorblind and sometimes colors just look alike. The two SKU photos allow me to keep these photos separate (I know where the next listing begins and ends). I also add measurements, weight, and other info to the SKU label because it makes it easier when I'm listing the item (instead of looking through all my photos, I have one basic photo with most of the info on it.)

That is such an insult - and so many sellers do that. Let us the buyer make the decision to buy. Good video and I would buy from this guy because he he showing the buyers what we want to know! Thanks for the video. I'm not a clothes guy but I am chewing on- selling the +130 good condition items that my kids no longer wear, so your video does help. Ebay made changes a while ago, you can't make templates anymore and it defaults to calculated shipping. Each. And. Every. Time. Called ebay and they shrugged their shoulders. *UPDATE* I think I have a workaround. Bulk edit and change calculated to flat rate + add my shipping cost.

You don’t use all the item specifics so I wanted to know if you still get a lot of sales. I fill out most the tabs but I think you could be right that buyers don’t want to look through the item specifics. Also it would save me precious time when listing. Thanks again 👊🏻✌🏻
@TaylorExchange Жыл бұрын
Hi Brett, I'm glad your liking the video. I was thinking of doing a sales video for last year but I'm working on a couple different ones first. My top line last year was $193k and the polo category consisted of $19k abut 10% of my sales. This seems good but the data tells me a lot of my polos are not selling. My store is largely tops. I may start being more selective on which ones I pick up. I think price and photos are the most important part of the listing.

@TaylorExchange Жыл бұрын
Ah yes those sales... So I will better explain in future videos, but all items have $8.99 shipping so on that $3.99 plus $8.99 shipping I may profit a couple bucks. When selling high volume these sale are important because your make you initial investment back and a few bucks. It also leads to people buying multiple items and keeps the total number of items at a manage number.

I wonder if it would simply be better to memorize sales stats and pass on a shirt which in better condition brings $8+/- of net profit and has a 20% STR using the item specifics used in your title? This is what I struggle with...avoiding crap when sourcing. Does anybody know if there is a phone app which will tell you yea or nay, like AMZ has for eBay? If say you only want to source 50% STR items, be swell if there was an app which judged this for me while sourcing based on my presets. My old brain can only store so much sales data.
@TaylorExchange Жыл бұрын
I hear you John. With the variables of used clothing I doubt their will be a yay or nay app. This is the true skill of selling is figuring out what sells! I've been in clothes for almost 2 years and I need to purge about 2k items this spring. Just too many bad buys. With KZbin taking up a lot of my time now, I'm considering changing up my strategy away from the volume game. Thanks for the comment.
