Just tested at dicks the M4 and M5 cuz they had a used m5 for same price and wow I actually had visibly more forgiveness and distance on the m5! Soo happy they had a used m5 and with the adjustment option I’m thrilled 😄

I just got the M3 and really like it, but am having 2nd thoughts about maybe should update to the M6? When I got fitted, both felt good, but decided on the M3 only because didn't know if there was enough difference for the money. Should I keep the M3 and just quit thinking about it?

The M3 is a great driver but you will likely see better performance from the M6. If you can I would test both drivers side by side and see what the results are. At the end of the day a new driver is a big investment and you will know best whether there is a big enough jump in performance or not to justify buying an M6. DC

Just bought the M3 w/ same shaft as my Callaway Rogue 3w. The aldila synergy 60.S but now I see a lot of ppl preferring the Mitsubishi and project X on this one. Did I make a bad call here?

The M3 is a brilliant driver, and the one I had in the bag for 2018, but the improvements in speed and forgiveness with the M5 and M6 are excellent. Well worth giving the M5 and M6 a go for yourself when you get the chance and seeing what they can do for you. DC

If I were you, I wouldn't upgrade. Despite 2 MPH lower ball speed, Your dispersion for the M3 is much better than the M5 / M6. I would trade 5 yards for fairway any day.

Although my dispersion with the M3 was tighter when testing on my SkyTrak, out on the golf course the M5 and M6 were more accurate. The significantly larger sweetspot on the M5 and M6, as well as the increased MOI, meant that they were more forgiving than the M3. All three, however, were incredibly forgiving and could fit into the bag of pretty much any golfer. DC

The combination of the thinner, hotter face (that the Speed Injection process has delivered) and Hammerhead 2.0 tech results in a 66% larger sweetspot with the M5 according to TaylorMade. That increase becomes apparent when out on the golf course. DC

I've yet to give the F9 Speedback a proper test so will have to get back to you on that one. I've hit it on a few occasions though and really liked it so far so will be interesting to see what one comes out on top. We'll have more comparison videos coming over the next few weeks. DC

Why would anyone pay £500 to upgrade from the M3 or M4 for the sake of a few yards, even less if you don't hit it 300 yards, which lets face it most of us don't.

It is up to the individual to decide. Both the M3 and M4 are fantastic drivers. I was, however, seeing improved performance with both the M5 and M6 over their predecessors in terms of speed, distance and forgiveness. A new driver is a big investment so if you have the M3 or M4 then I completely understand sticking with them. My advice is to go and give the M5 and M6 a hit for yourself and see how you get on. You are bound to impressed with what you see, especially if you are currently using a driver that is a few years old or more. DC

Take out the 167mph freak ball speed for the m5 which over 5 shots is quite obviously going to have a massive difference on the average ball speed and there is basically no difference at all. All other shots sit 163mph and m3 161mph, do the test using a bigger data set and they would be the same am sure. M3 is far more accurate on your test as well. Guaranteed no noticeable difference would be seen on the course, m5 longer on some as would m3, unless you have crazy money or get the clubs given to you for free you would be made to pay to upgrade.

TaylorMade carried out extensive testing on each of the drivers, including hitting shots out of the screws. They will not break if you hit them but if for some reason they were to fail in any way then it would likely fall under TaylorMade's standard warranty policy. Don't worry though, those screws were built to last, even if you insist on missing the centre of the face time after time. DC

My distances were calculated using my SkyTrak. I had my SkyTrak set up at standard temperature and ground conditions, hence the 30 yards or roll out in my numbers. DC

If I was to choose between the M3 and the M5 I would definitely put the M5 in the bag. I prefer the look of the new matte black carbon crown down at address and the jump in speed and distance is nothing to be sniffed at. Also, the increased level of forgiveness and larger sweetest make the M5 so easy to hit. DC

Being amateurs tend to hit the ball with high spin wouldn’t it be beneficial to Play the M5. I know the m6 is more forgiving but you’re locked into the spin settings.
