Not sure what Category 1 is. I play off a 13 and was hitting the middle fairly consistently at a demo day and bought a set of 5-AW with the Modus 105. Loved the feel and forgiveness and more importantly for me the head wasn’t too big and the offset was minimal so I wasn’t overcooking it far left. Wasn’t a TM fan until I hit these clubs

Hi. Category 1 handicaps in the UK are 6 and below, but as mentioned anyone up to around 10 could get a lot from these irons. At that level there are a lot of other options with larger heads that are high speed irons too, but more forgiving.

How do you like the shaft? I got fitted with the Nippon modus 120 S. Not Shure if I'm digging it. Feel a little bit firmer & heavier then I'm used too. May try the KBS.... 👌🏼

H. Lux the 105’s are a little lighter which is why I preferred them but I really liked the Nippon more than the Dynamic Gold. The KBS shafts that gave me a mid ball flight were too heavy (I wanted mid flight bc I already hit it fairly high). I really liked the Nippon shafts

You know I bought a set when they first came out. I made the big mistake and traded them in. However this year I tested the new P790. I didn’t like them as much as the old P790. The old P790 has a lower ball flight than the new P790. I got lucky and The store had a set of the old P790 in the shaft I wanted “regular” flex and at the right price. I brought them.

My concern being someone with weaker hands is the weight of the heads. I see on the Taylormade website the swing weight of the longer irons is D2 and it goes up through the PW as one would expect. I tried these in a golf shop and they felt heavy relative to many other irons I tried. I wish they started at D0 in the long irons because I loved the feel of impact. Do you know if they can adjust the weight of the heads at the factory they way Ping does?

+George Smith you can also vary swing weight with the type of shaft so speak to a TaylorMade fitter or a specialist like Foregolf.ie or sggt.co.uk who could do custom swing weights.

Seems like the foam would get hard at cold temperatures? Maybe softer during hotter temperatures? Can you test to see if temperature affects the performance?

I was fitted for these clubs last week, and the Golf Pro that I was working with made sure to inform me that if you play these clubs in less than 46 degree temperatures, you'll feel/hear a difference (negatively). Good thing you wont see my ass out on the course if it's less than 50 degrees outside lol.
