I'm still playing my old Titleist DCIs from 30 years ago, which I'll say were destroyers back then with a 7 handicap. Now at 58 I'm looking at game improvement clubs, struggling to make good contact, with maybe 1 in 5 shots hit pure. Which of these iron sets would suit someone like me better IYO?

I have issue with saying the 6 is actually a 4 or a 5. If you are going to compare just on lofts it has faults. If you are going to compare the flioght of your 4 iron to the flight of the new 6 irons that would be a better comparrison. If the new 6 flies higher, spins more and produces similar distance to your 4 then it's better. You have to compare trajectory, spin, height and landing angles at the same distance. Not based on the number of the club.

As a low handicap player with fast swing you make these look like obscene bomber irons. Do you think a regular mid to high handicap player with 85mph swing speed make these irons more playable and less distance. The real question is the descent angle be good enough with slower speeds?

As someone with a slower swing speed than you, these would cease to be functional at about 8 iron. Pretty sure there’s no shaft on the planet that could give me the descent angle, spin or combination of both that could make these strong lofted irons work.

This is why we have included Johnny with these tests, he swings around 89 mph, and as you can see some pro’s and cons. All would need fittings though with their strong lofts.

You rushed the last shot because there were 4 golfers waiting behind you. It should have been eliminated or taken again. Looking at where the balls landed on the Par 3 it looks as though the Qi10 won that shootout

I think it’s time to stop with this “someone down to 12 handicap” nuisance. It’s all depends on age and what you want in a iron, any low single figure golfer inc scratch could play both especially the callaway as it’s all about looks down at the ball for most lower handicaps and unless you are playing competitive golf at a high level nobody needs to move a ball in all directions at will.

Afraid we do have to generalise based on handicap levels. Low handicaps generally tend to swing faster, use smaller irons and work the ball both ways. Aware that’s not the case for everyone, but these videos are for the masses

@@GolfmagicPlusI game the blueprint S. I’m a cat 1 golfer, for me it’s all about turf interaction & gapping. I would be hitting a 7 iron 200 yards it’s no good. I’d need 5 wedges in the bag if I gamed these irons costing more money. Plus the feel & feedback I get with my blueprints are worth it. The QI irons are basically jacked up lofted hybrids. The offset is disgusting, they’re horrible fat chunky hybrids. I wouldn’t even call them an iron. I carry my blueprint 7 iron 160 which is perfect for me. Great spin numbers & consistent yardage. With these you get flyers on the fairway 😂. Horrible. They’re actually charging a grand for these. They’re not even forged.

For me, it's all about sound and feel as a 10hc. I tried Rocket Blades in 2012, and the harsh feel was a dealbreaker. Never will I play clubs with a plastic-filled slot in the sole. I just traded in my Apex 21s for the Ai Smoke irons. Looking for forgiveness, distance, less dispersion, while maintaining sound and feel. Thanks for the review. Cheers.
