The difference between Phil's chipping instruction and this chipping instruction is like night and Day.

The funny thing is Phil uses probably 20 techniques around the green! He has all sorts of long/med/short arc techniques with all sorts of grip rolls, stalls, setups and not to mention radial/ulnar tricks. Phil is trying to dumb it down! There are so many ways to hit shots around the green it's insane!
@jacobr45584 жыл бұрын
@SuperTrader Mikey you don't learn golf online from random dumbed down technique. This is like Michael Jordan telling you he bounces the ball on the ground. It's completely useless.

@@jacobr4558 Only to those who can't follow BASIC instructions. I can confidently play skins matches now thanks to all of the different advice I have found on KZbin. Get a camera and tripod, film your swing, then use the vast array of knowledge that is on Y.T to break down your flaws and start shooting CONSISTENTLY better scores... It is easy when you can film your swing so you have a comparison to work with...

my game plan this summer is going to work on my iron play and yardage control. Less time chipping and more time working on them GIRs. I feel like this technique is so effective for consistency so it should help keep my scrambling game to about 60%. I hit like 5 GIRs now and get up and down like 80% of the time. I'd like to switch those around. Does this make sense? Hitting more greens will mean more pars, better (and more) chances at birdies and naturally it should improve my consistency off the tee as well.
@xxChacaronXX4 жыл бұрын
How long have you been playing Mike? It really depends on where you "Waste" shots. Like if you 3 putt and chunk chips and pitches focus on that... but after you get somewhat consistent I'd focus on getting a tee shot down and hit them GIRs
@MJEdwards4093 жыл бұрын
The PGA Tour average for scrambling is 58%. You aren’t getting up and down 80% of the time.

@Cosher Official 2900- Ever hear of Paul Runyan? One of the greatest wedge players ever. They called him "Little Poison" because he killed everyone with his short game. Taking the small muscles of the hands out of the equation make this a VERY CONSISTENT method.
@blackie754 жыл бұрын
If it isn't, you're not doing it correctly. Both arms have to stay extended (but with no tension), the whole time. Also, there is no weight shift, or hip work. It's all upper body, and it's the most consistent way of chipping I've ever tried to date. I stumbled across it on my own by accident, and on the first try, I put 30 balls in a one square meter group from varying distance from 5 to 20 meters.

For the average golfer, senior in my case, how many yards out from the green can you use this chipping technique? Yes, it might depend on your strength, but it would seem there would be a limit to how far out this technique would be effective..thoughts?
@br5448 Жыл бұрын
guessing no more than 30, more like 20, at least with a higher loft

I use this from anywhere inside 60m/70y where I can’t hit a full shot. As a guide I take the club back slightly past parallel and hit the following distance including roll out 20m - 60 deg 30m - 56 deg 40m - 52 deg etc….
