Zach is the best! He taught me the dead hand wedge a few years ago and I was playing my best golf then. Somehow I drifted away from it. This video brought it all back. It's so simple and reliable and gives you 3 shots that let you do anything you want around the green.

Thank you so much brother! Dude my short game has gotten sooooo good since this lesson. I used to hate practicing my short game and this technique made it fun because of how simple it is. I will warn you to make sure you practice off different slopes. It just takes a little practice but you’ll be able to adapt the same technique in up hill and down hill situations

@@ErndogGolf I hated practicing too, it just felt really inconsistent for me and too many variables in striking the ball. This is much more repeatable! Still trying to fix the slice on my driver but I’ll get there.

@@ErndogGolf I did, I had a little trouble grasping the drill. I’m gonna rewatch it to see if I can find a trigger that helps my brain process it more. I felt like I didn’t accomplish much on my first time trying it but that’s what practice is for I guess! lol!

When my short game gets bad, I can usually track the problem to not enough turn in my upper body in the follow through. I think about my chest following the target line through the swing and then pointing at the target when I finish. That and good rhythm will get you a long way.

I only hit my 56* in this video! Dude, that practice facility at Bridlewood is insane. They have so many hitting bays, two short game areas, a massive putting green. It’s always packed with people practicing too! A lot of juniors are out there which is amazing to see! Unfortunately it’s about an hour from my home, so I only go out there for lessons

It’s definitely a similar setup but it is not a slow swing. You’re also trying to make contact with the sand first and not the ball

How do you feel the distance control is on these? I was trying to do it at home and it felt goofy, like I really had to turn my body hard to get anything more than 10 yards. I'm used to using more hand action to "feel" the shot a little better, and using all torso makes it feel different than any other golf swing.

Hey Luke! Honestly it has done wonders for me for controlling distance. It kinda makes me feel like I’m lobbing the ball up to a spot. In the very beginning when he’s showing me how he would throw a ball is a good visual. The distance of your shot will be determined by the length of your backswing, so taking a longer backswing and seeing how that feels!

Shouldn't another key to this first shot be standing closer to the ball? I have been using this technique recently with huge improvement and standing closer raises the handle/grip and slightly takes the heel of the club slightly off the ground

In your Chip shot are you using any wrist bending at all? Also in the high soft Lob shot where you are both wider & hands lower do you use the wrists more for this shot?..I did pick up Zach said on this higher Lob shot to concentrate on a longer but slower speed...do you still keep your hands very quiet.

i have found this technique is not as successful on non bermuda /zoysia courses and out of the rough...but chipping liking putting has to work for you and what gives you most confidence...it's all about practice, repetition and what works under pressure for you

That’s a really great point! I think there are some fundamentals that will still apply like weight forward, ball position, good tempo. I agree though, I find myself having to get a bit more handsy out of the rough!

Dude you absorb this info like a sponge! I think getting professional teaching from beginning is the way to go, anyone reading this, get your kids professional coaching from the beginning so they learn the correct techniques from the get-go rather than ingraining bad techniques that need to be reversed that takes years!

Hi Rob! All were with the same wedge (56*). Around the greens, 99% of my shots are using a 56*
