Currently in the frozen stage where I have so many ideas, plans and goals. But also it’s getting in the way to make more progress and stay focused.
@TaylorPOD4 ай бұрын
Totally can relate. That’s how my brain is always! It can be so frustrating. What really helped me was actually doing less research - I found that when I kept doing more research my list of ideas got to be so big it was overwhelming. So instead, what I started doing, I would research enough for 1 solid idea and then execute that fully before going back for the next idea. Hope this makes sense and hope it may help you!

@@TaylorPOD I have been experiencing the same thing! The more I research, the more overwhelmed I get. & When I’m overwhelmed, I freeze & kinda shut down which is no bueno haha. This advice is super helpful! One step at a time! 😊 Thank you! 🙏

I loved that analogy about being a mile wide and an inch deep. I totally get it, I'm feeling very overwhelmed trying to add multiple products to my shop, that is making it very difficult to make progress. After hearing what you said, I'm going to start focusing on a single product. I think that's going to work much better for me, thank you for all your tips 😊

I'm glad you are sharing your journey, can't wait to see how it goes. I started in the fall last year, and reached 100 sales in May but June was extremely slow barely much sales. I have been staying motivated and continuing to research and list, not allowing it to deter me. I have also looked at my stats and I have gotten a lot of abandoned carts😩 if those abandoned carts had converted I would have been around 300 sales by now😩. It is a little frustrating because I don't know what I'm doing wrong if it's the shipping cost or something else.

Hi Taylor, can we use 2 printing partners for a particular listing? To save time and cost depending on where customers location is? US / ASIA. Thanks

What about mock-ups? Are you using print provider mock-ups or buying others? I m afraid to start POD because of that because Etsy wants us to use only print providers mock-ups and a lot of suspensions happening because of using not POD mickups
@TaylorPOD4 ай бұрын
I purchase mockups directly on Etsy mostly and have used PlaceIt for some as well. There is a lot of unclear information regarding mockups unfortunately. I focus on making sure the mockups I use accurately reflect the product my customers receive and I have had no issues personally.

Do you know of any POD companies that integrate with Etsy and take their cost directly out of what customer pays instead charging fulfillment fees
@TaylorPOD4 ай бұрын
I do not. I don’t believe that would be possible. But what you could do is extend processing times, wait to receive the payment from Etsy and then use the revenue towards fulfilling the order. This just would take a lot longer for the customer to receive the product which could hurt conversion rate and customer reviews.

Would you consider t shirts (bella canvas 3001 and CC 1717), and sweatshirts (Gildan 64000) one product type. And would it affect a product specific store if we added in tote bags as well as say a mug or drinking cup? I am wondering because an email list of buyers may want any one or all of these products, I would think. In jewelry, they offer rings, necklaces, bracelets, anklets, but they do cater to a specific niche with these products and the store can send an email campaign out to all of their customers. I sold jewelry before this new venture of POD, so that is why I am wondering.
@TaylorPOD4 ай бұрын
Yes! I consider "apparel" a product type - if that makes sense! For example, my first shop sells apparel and I have tons of different apparel items in it while still being 'product specific' :) It doesn't hurt a store to add additional product types - my "method behind my madness" of having a specific strategy in the beginning (product specific or niche specific) is to gain clarity faster on what is and isn't working for you. When you are laser focused, you are able to gain data and insight much faster than being all over the place. Starting product specific and then finding areas of success is the best way to then expand into new product types. For example, on your apparel items maybe you are seeing success with 'Mom' related designs. Taking those winning designs to new product types could be a great way to scale. It's tricky in the beginning if you are making tons of designs and listing them sporadically on tons of different product types without a focus. The key is being strategic and having a method in place to collect data and make data driven decisions to scale. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk 😅🤣

I have an old etsy shop from 2021 I started adding pod listings too. Because I changed it a few times and wasn't really active do you think I would be better to just open a brand new shop? I have added about 80 listings

I'm wondering the same thing. I opened and set up a store over a year ago and then life happened and it got put on the back burner. Looking to start adding things to the shop but wondering if it would just be better to start a whole new shop since my shop shows I've been open with no products listed or sales in over a year. 🤔

Also, is the 30% profit margin including all Etsy fees and before our personal taxes?if not, what is the avg % profit margin then? 20%?
@TaylorPOD4 ай бұрын
My business has run about a 30% margin overall, that is including Etsy fees. Personal taxes are going to vary greatly depending on an individual person as there are many factors that go into that. I have a tax video here for more info! kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6qWfoOafcl8m8Usi=I2FsHp2JWo-K8awx
