I didn’t know they had those items in the masonry section! Thank you. My favorite vertical solution has been for our deck garden. We had an old folding metal ladder that wasn’t safe to use, so I painted it green and I train our cucumbers up it! It looks really cool.

Be careful with the rust. Masonry panels are made to go in concrete they're not coated with anything. If your okay with rust touching your food go for it. The same goes with rebar.

Hey Taylor! My first stop on your channel. You are obviously in CA or someplace. All that passion fruit vine reminded me of my LA garden. I have a big one in a pot here that is as big as it can get until I get it in the ground. I've got cattle panels and was planning to make a trellis so I wanted to see what you did. Hi Kaye! We are for sure in California. I'm over here trying to grow loofas like the ones you did but I can't get them much bigger than seedlings 😂. Its been a two year saga- maybe next season will be the charm. We actually used rebar to support our arches because it was a little cheaper and easier to hammer in..but it's the same idea... T-posts would work well and might even be more substantial against your Tennessee rains and wind. For lighter or smaller arches, we just trim the bottoms into stakes so they sort of support themselves.

Love these simple ideas for arches and trellises! Neighbors had cattle panel over a porch swing, with grapes growing over the trellis! We're in Oregon wine country, and they work for a winery - so perfect! My ohana/ grant flat is on the W of my daughter's garage, and we've talked of putting an arch or two over the walk from the driveway

it gets pretty dang windy where i live (up to 25+ a couple times a month)...do you think i could pull off that pipe tomato trellis??

That amount of direct wind might be tricky for the pipe trolls (and the tomato plant). It gets super windy on our hillside and we use shade cloth to sort of make a protective wind break for the more vulnerable plants. Maybe you could do something like that? With proper staking im sure the trellis could hold up but there are probably better options :)

I apologize if the scene with the turtle offended you in any way. No turtles were harmed in the making of this video. :) (In fact Shelly is still alive and still lives under the tree in our garden - she just came out of hibernation a week ago). The "scenes" were really just one moment in time where the kids each took turns holding her. She may have been frightened at being picked up, but I promise they are always very gentle with her and set out lots of fruits and veggies for her to chomp on every day that she is not hibernating.
