Cleetus had the suspension loaded and went over some sharp/uneven paving. That broke the right arm. The car hopped again and the landing/wall contact broke the left side. Uneven paving aggravated the high suspension loads.

This is the advise everyone starting out needs. Just did my first drift weekend with my g35 coupe, and it was nothing but reliable. Welded diff, BC coilovers, steering wheel, traction control defeated and oil cooler. One thing Taylor didn’t mention is if you have a factory brembo car, a dual caliper setup is pretty pricey. I was able to function all weekend with a stock handbrake with a drift button.

Hey man- if you’re ever in the norheast, come drive my stock powered e46 330i. It’s been probably the most reliable car in my club for the past 2 years, it’s driven over an hour to and from 15 events, some of them 2 days. Loaded up to 12 wheels and tires, canopy, tools, etc in there and drove it to each drift day. It’s my ultimate seat time car. It’s a simple budget build, BC coils, welded diff, slr super angle, dual caliper hydro setup. Slr I bought new, coils I bought brand new in their box, “used” for $500. Only issue I’ve had is that some gaskets and seals started leaking more than I’d like last year, after 230k miles and 15 events, so this winter I’ve refreshed almost every seal and gasket. It’s a car that I’ve upgraded as I’ve evolved as a driver, and everyone I let drive it can’t believe how well set up it is for how little I’m really into it. 7k front, 8k rear on the BC, but the suspension geometry makes it an effective 4-5k in the rear I think. I’ll be down in WV at panthera sometime this season, as this is the first time I’ve ever had a tow vehicle and a trailer! Finally!!

I watched this when it came out, and I'm watching again and I have to say, a 99-04 mustang GT is probably just as good of a starter car. Similar price, similar power, similar weight, more TQ, the 4.6V is stupid cheap and super reliable, they have a factory oil cooler option if you want that and a coilover and Angie kit from Jon Duncan/Steve Mass will run you about $3000 total depending whether you get their stage 1, 2 or 3 kit or if you go with Jon's bolt on angle bracket. The bracket won't give you the most angle, but it's a huge improvement over stock and it's about $400-500.

Could you please make a parts list with links? I know you are thinking about getting a sedan to drift. I believe you should get a 2006 Infiniti G35 due to the fact of parts redundancy making it easier to make a quick fix or diagnose a problem with either the engine or parts of the wiring harness because you will usually have a functional car as a reference as well as a temporary parts donor to find a solution to the problem. By owning the "Z" and the "G" you will always have a car to drive!
